Rest in Power, Rest in Peace. Candle-lit shrine to represent peace. The shrine had pencils and pieces of paper to write the name(s) of anyone you have lost to violence. You drop the paper in a box and take a cowry shell with you as you leave. South Side Summertime Chi 🌞🌳👙🌊 The South Shore Cultural Center is on the south side of the city. It provides a lot of activities year round for the surrounding community with activities for all ages. The building can be rented for a variety of events. There’s a beach, many picnic areas, golf course, nature walk and more on the grounds. I’m sure this Chicago landmark is over 100 years old and continues to provide many services to the community. It’s definitely worth the visit. (at South Shore Cultural Center)

Today I learned that large statues make me pretty uncomfortable. Of course I’ve seen, rode and walked past it my whole life but this was my first time actually getting close to it. The closer I got to it the more uneasy I felt. Joint is creepy AF. When I stepped on that grass I thought it was over for me.
