As a child raised by a mom who did it all on her own, this part hits hard. Women are stereotypically expected to be mothers and to be good at it, so when something isn’t perfect, their ability to parent comes into question. But if a fucking man pays even the smallest amount of attention to a child, then society thinks he’s an incredible dad. Too many times did my dad get credit for the things that my mom did.

Parents deserve equal respect for their devotion, love, and work ethic regardless of their gender or sex.
