@jessica-branham
natxmsâ:
âall i wanted was some cappuccino that was on sale. was that so much to ask for ? meanwhile this chick nearly knocked me unconcious to get to some 7$ blender. a fucking blender is worth more than my life obviously.âÂ
âPeople definitely get more intense than usual during this holiday, if you can even call it that. Were you able to get your cappuccino?â
corinawestonâ:
CLOSED ! @jessica-branham :
songs blaring through the speakers and bright lights hit corina making her flinch. âi will never get the appeal of underage drinking,â corina yelled over the music, taking a sip of her soda. âyou want a sip?â
Jessica shook her head at the offer. âIâm driving, remember? Besides... this isnât really my scene,â she admitted, checking her purse occasionally to ensure that no one stole her car keys again. âRemind me why we decided it was a good idea to come to a Northlake party again? The last time I went to one of these, I got robbed, flashed, and given toilet water to drink.â
violet-parnelâ:
âNo offense? I can tell,â she laughed. It was clear that the girl put school first and everything else came after. She knew what that was like â sheâd been there herself. But at a certain point, she had to make herself happy, too. âSo whatâre you gonna do with that free time? Anything fun? Or is it back to hitting the books?â
âNo offense taken,â Jessica replied with a nod. She was used to it. She kept to herself quite a bit and it wasnât as if she was hiding the fact that she was socially inept. âWell, I finished my homework during lunch, so I might just relax on my porch and read a book for fun. Or see what my friend is doing.â
violet-parnelâ:
âWell, arenât you a perfect little Miss 4.0? How do you find time for a social life?â Violet teased. She knew that putting school first was important, but she wasnât about to make her entire social life about everyone elseâs grade point average. âWell, whatâre you doing after school? Tutoring, probably, right?â
âI donât really have much of a social life,â she admitted abashedly. Her social circle was fairly limited and right now, she spent most of her free time either practicing her cello or hanging out with Jordon. âI actually have a free afternoon today. I was supposed to go to a music lesson but that got cancelled.â
jordon-greyâ:
âWell you know Iâve got you. Whether itâs school stress, home stress, or even stress from me. I want to be someone you can come and vent to, okay? Iâm here to listenâŠalways.â Jordon spoke sweet and softly as he pulled her hand up to place a small kiss to the back of her hand.Â
She smiled back and nodded at him as he reassured her. It did help her relax knowing that she had someone on her side. And maybe there would be a time for her to tell him more, maybe even later that evening. But right now, she didnât want to dwell on the negative. âSince you put it out there, I guess I should take advantage of that. But let me know if I ever get too much,â Jessica noted.
violet-parnelâ:
âOh, you tutor too? What subject?â Violet asked. She was always happy to have other friends who actually had a brain in their head. âRight? Like, youâre gonna probably fail either way, and if you donât care to come get the money yourself, why should I waste my time?â
âA little bit of everything. History, English, and math to name a few,â Jessica replied trying to recall her lineup for this particular semester. âItâs a choice really. I suppose you can treat yourself to something with the new found free time.â
natxmsâ:
â â alright⊠remind me to never go out during black friday again.â
âYea, people get a little too intense during the sales. I had to wake up super early just to get to the coffee shop for the morning shoppers.â
jordon-greyâ:
Jordon reached over to hold Jessicaâs hand as he drove towards the cinema. She was so good to him and he found it easy to be a better man when she was around. Sure, he had a reputation of being a bit of a player, but none of that mattered when he was around her. She was the only one he wanted and he needed to prove that to her. âWhat are you thinking about?â he asked as he looked over at her.
His voice broke her train of thought and she shook her head as she looked back at him. She didnât want to ruin their good time by bringing up everything that had been happening at home. That would definitely be a downer, and the last thing she wanted was to bring things to a screeching halt before they started. âToo many things that arenât important right now,â Jessica assured him, squeezing his hand.Â
thatdudebellamyâ:
âThatâs pretty cool I guessâŠâ Bellamy comments, even if the name already bored him and he was pretty sure he caught the thickness of that book and it did not seem light. They definitely have varying definitions of it. âAnd hey donât worry about it, until you get your keys back, just hit me up and all that stuff. You have my number, right?â He knows how boring it could get being stuck at home. He remembers playing Fortnite and watching Netflix all of the time before he made any real friends at Northlake. âOh sweet,â he comments. âLook at you, helping me out already.â He chuckles, looking over at her but trying to keep his eyes on the road for the most part. âSo howâve ya been lately? You know, with everything thatâs been going on and stuff. Car troubles aside.â
Jessica nodded. She was grateful for her neighbor giving her a ride around town every now and again. It had been a long month without her car and she as many chances to get away from the house as possible. âMe? Oh, I guess... Iâve been alright. College applications are driving me up the wall, and thatâs whatâs been occupying my mind and the majority of my time. So, things are a little bit stressful.â
violet-parnelâ:
Violet looked around, finding Jessica standing in the doorway. âYeah, safe to say youâre not. I canât believe this kid didnât show up for tutoring. His momâs paying me either way, though, so⊠free money, I guess?â
âAt least thereâs that. Iâve had a few of those lately. I do feel bad about keeping the money for myself, but itâs not like Iâm trying that hard to track them back down.â
princessleiakâ:
âBecause that instantly means he doesnât lie to you, right? Obviously. If he treated me the way he treated you, Iâd cut his tongue off and he knows it. He only gets away with it because you let him, ya know?â
âI donât think it means he doesnât lie to me. It just means that I know more about him than you. I know that he makes me feel worthless and stupid and like Iâm less of a person every day. You have the privilege of not having him constantly berate you and question yourself. And Iâm sick and tired of people thinking that I havenât tried to make it stop. Because I have and it only gets worse.â
princessleiakâ:
âHow do you know I donât know what heâs really like? Maybe heâs lying to you and what heâs like with me is what heâs really like. Itâs not pretending if itâs true.â
âBecause Iâve lived with him my entire life. I would sure hope he isnât the way with you the way he is with me. I wouldnât wish that upon anyone, even people that I donât get along with.â
jordon-greyâ:
Jordon took a deep breath, making it very clear the effect she was having on him. âYou just love to tease me, donât you,â he nodded before heading around to get into the drivers seat.
She looked out the window as the car turned on, staring out the window. Jessica felt safe, but there was still that voice in the back of her mind that prodded at her. Youâre a slut. Youâre just being used. Youâre an idiot for thinking anyone could feel that way about you. Try as she might, she struggled to shake it off, but she kept it to herself. It wouldnât help to bring it up to Jordon.
princessleiakâ:
âExcept I didnât. You just assumed I did. All I did was say I understood where your brother was coming from. I thought gingers were supposed to be soulless not brainless.â
âYou have no idea what my brother is really like. And again, you donât know me. So stop pretending like you know anything.â
thatdudebellamyâ:
âCool,â Bellamy comments, smiling. âHey, maybe you can help me figure out the difference between Panko and breadcrumbs,â he suggests as he walks down the steps so they can meet on the sidewalk. He wasnât planning for company, but heâs glad he has it now. Itâs always more fun to go places with other people. Unlocking his car with a press to his keys, he goes over to the passenger side to first pull open the door for Jess before going over to his own side of the vehicle. Once inside, he starts the car, then makes sure his phone is connected to the sound system so he can play something from his Spotify before he starts to drive. He goes simple and selects his âcarâ playlist before moving to pull the car out of the driveway. Once on the road, he asks, âSo, what were you, you know, reading? Back on the porch?â He shifts his gaze from the street momentarily to look at her.
She smiled at the boy and set her book into her bag. âItâs Faulkner. As I Lay Dying. Just a bit of light reading and all of that. Thanks again for the ride,â Jessica said. What she went through at home wasnât something she spoke about, so there was no sense in trying to explain it to someone. It wouldnât be likely that anyone would believe it and most would probably tell her that she was overreacting. So, she was left to take any moment that she could afford to get away, even if it was just to the grocery store. âPanko is just a type of breadcrumb. They should have the names on the labels.â
princessleiakâ:
âExcuse you. Fix your attitude. No wonder he thinks youâre the most annoying person on the planet.â
âMy attitude? Youâre the one whoâs making assumptions about me and calling me annoying when I havenât done anything to you.â
