Today marks the completion of our basic drafting and sewing course. And here we are, in the A-line skirts that felt like the bane of our existence. (Yes, it was that heavy.) When my fellow monkey first told me to save the date, I thought I should make something for her. Just like how we'd get each other handmade souvenirs from our travels. I don't know how I can make bridal dresses (yet) but I thought I could figure something for me with @fashionmakerspace. And if it looks bad on me, I can afford to look worse on her wedding day. I left a casual comment on Supply & Demand Novena about their new Bak Kwa Pizza and won a chance to try it. So it's only right that I paged the other Bak Kwa Jiejie out for a old roomies night out. It was also cheat night so we wanted to go all out with a NY striploin. And boy oh boy, it's rare for a pizzeria/ pasta trattoria to do so well at keeping all the medium rare goodness in tact. I left a casual comment on Supply & Demand Novena about their new Bak Kwa Pizza and won a chance to try it. So it's only right that I paged the other Bak Kwa Jiejie out for a old roomies night out. The pizza was the epitome of fusion. The crust was thin but was just enough to hold everything together. The spicy bak kwa had a sweetness that you won't find in pepperoni. We made it to our usual date with the Huayi festival, despite my long day at assessments. And it was for Hamlet/Hu Jun. Oh it doesn't matter. I have a terrible crush on both. The set was lovely but it was still difficult to match what we saw in the National Theatre's rendition with Benedict Cumberbatch. One last thing to close up the circle for me - Hu Jun plays Sherlock on TV.
