Guys, I’ve just had one of those moments in theory crafting when it comes to a crack theory for One Piece. That moment of realization of something tragic?
Spoilers for some recent stuff that’s gone down in One Piece and I apologize if this is something that has already been said. This is more of a ramble. Apologize in advance for the absolute wall of text.
So… In regards to the Buggy D. Clown crack theory… I will admit, I fully subscribe to this theory, for all prior reasons given by the fandom, save for the potential relation to Rocks, via official coloured page. I personally think Buggy’s origin is way wilder but that’s just me. We still know diddly squat about where he comes from, after all.
I also think that Buggy is mirroring what happened with Roger, and how people mistook his name for Gold Roger, not Gol D. Roger. I think it’s the same situation, only Buggy is using it intentionally to obscure the fact that he is a D, cause he can be a very sneaky character like that. However thats not the realization I came to.
Nah the realization I came to is in regard to his relationship with Shanks, with Shanks being the son of a Celestial Dragon/being a Celestial Dragon by association. We’ve seen with Luffy and Law, that D’s do in fact bring misfortune and trouble for Celestial Dragons, whether or not they are still considered one. I’m not certain if this also applied for Roger’s case with Shanks as well, but I get the feeling we may find out sooner or later.
If Buggy is a D, it makes his falling out with Shanks that much more tragic because it could be something like fate/destiny at play. A friendship that was never meant to be, by a Celestial Dragon who doesn’t want to be a dragon (I don’t think) and a D who doesn’t want to be a D (I don’t think).
Y’all seeing the vision? I think it would be something right up Oda’s alley in regards to tragedy. Granted, I can also see him finding some way to make the friendship work. Maybe after the big final battle sorta deal when the world is changed again, they could be friends again. Maybe they can go and finally see the One Piece together. Like they both wanted. Without something like the Will of D or the Tyranny of the Celestial Dragons at play.
Sorry for the wall of text. This honestly makes me wanna write a fic about this sorta scenario. I’m not good at writing characters who aren’t my own, so I’m certain it wouldn’t be a good fic. Maybe I’ll consider at least drafting something. Maybe. Thanks for reading, if you made it this far.

When he finally does show up in the One Piece Live Action series, and it shows his bounty flyer in front of him, I hope Crocodile reaches out, touches the bounty flyer, and it turns to sand that goes back into his body. 😊
How do I get over the fact that Shanks is one of the most famous, feared, dangerous, and admired guys in the entire OP universe, and that not only does he have a fleet following him but a whole fandom that basically treats him like a god, because on top of that he’s possibly one of the most GOATed characters in the lore who inspires nothing but respect or fear when he sets foot somewhere and makes everyone pass out or straight-up stops a fucking war between the most dangerous people in the entire fucking Grand Line
but behind all that public image he’s just a guy who would’ve preferred to have none of that and just keep sailing, living adventures with his fucking teenage crush, who is a fucking clown with self-esteem issues.?????
