my favorite bible study teacher used to say, "Religion will kill you faster than anything," and the words have really sank their teeth in over the years. it's true. if you put all your focus on the law you can miss out on the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.

follow the law as best you can, but know Jesus is there whether you fail or fly.

all my life some strange piece of my soul craved the Light, this clean and holy feeling inside, and time and again my sinful nature denied it. i don't know how to hold onto it. it's like holding onto fire. but when i let go the hot coals Christ again places them in my injured palms. i am a prodigal child afraid that He will not embrace me when i return for the thousandth time, but He always does.
