"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5, NIV).
Are you facing a situation that seems like it has no logical solution? Sometimes we have to turn our minds off, stop trying to figure it all out, and stop overanalyzing and researching everything. When you don’t see the answer in the natural realm, it’s time to stop leaning on your own understanding and choose to trust God.
Sometimes our minds can be a distraction to our “inner sensor.” Our minds can allow fear and dread to distract us from what God is speaking to our hearts. That’s why the Scripture says that we aren’t to lean on our own understanding. We have to take time to shut off the distractions, shut off fear, and listen to what’s going on inside of us where God speaks. That’s where faith rises up. That’s where all of the sudden you’ll feel a spark of hope even when things look impossible.
Today, no matter what it looks like in the natural, choose to lean on Him. Trust that He has favor in store for your future. Trust that something good is about to happen. As you lean on Him with your mind, soul and strength, you’ll see His goodness and break through to new levels in every area of your life!
“Above all else guard your heart for it affects everything you do” (Proverbs 4:23).
These days, we hear a lot about detoxing our physical bodies. Bacteria can build up. Pesticides and chemicals can get into our system. Experts recommend that you go through a deep cleansing periodically and stay away from what is harmful so you can rid yourself of these toxins.
In the same way, there are all kinds of toxins that can build up in our minds. When we go around dwelling on the wrong thoughts, thinking about what we can’t do, how somebody hurt us, or how we’ll never get ahead; those thoughts are toxic. And toxic thoughts left alone become like toxic waste. It gets into your heart, and eventually, contaminates your whole life. It affects your self-image, your attitude, and your level of confidence. That’s why the Bible tells us that we have to guard our hearts and minds above all else because if your mind gets polluted, your whole life is going to be polluted.
Make the decision today to go on a fast from negative, self-defeating thoughts. Cleanse your mind from what is harmful and fill yourself with thoughts of faith and victory. As you do, those good thoughts will strengthen and empower you to live the good life He has planned for you!
We’ve all messed up. Said the wrong words, loved the wrong person, reacted the wrong way…walked when we should have waited, indulged when we should have resisted.
You’ll mess up more if you let yesterday’s mistakes sabotage today’s attitude!
The Bible says, God’s mercies are new every morning. Receive them. Learn a lesson from them.
Thunderbolts of regret can ignite and consume you. What makes the difference? Counteract them with downpours of God’s grace, daily washings of forgiveness.
Once a year won’t do. Once a month is insufficient. Sporadic mistings leave you combustible. Weekly showers leave you dry. You need a solid soaking every day!
Lamentations 3:22-23 says “The Lord’s love never ends; His mercies never stop. They are new every morning.”
