La Fiesta San Diego
One of the better Mexican sit-down restaurants in downtown San Diego. The service is decent and they have a great happy hour. I usual purchase a restaurant.com certificate at a good value when I eat at La Fiesta. The restaurant is priced on the high side for dinner if you're ordering drinks. Salsa good, chips hot and Dos Equis Amber on tap makes for a good time.
Cost: High
Service: Good
Ambiance: Dark and festive
Sole Luna Cafe SD Neighborhood
I find myself at Sole Luna Cafe on a Friday afternoon usually around happy hour while walking my dog. Sole Luna is located in the Cortez Hill area of Downtown San Diego. The neighborhood is quiet but sits right under Cortez Hill Condos and a great view of downtown SD and a partial bay view. The beers for happy hour are $3 draft and they have a select of Moretti which I usually do not see on tap.
The husband and I went for a late night dessert and they had 3 or 4 selections for dessert ranging from creme brulee, tiramisu; chocolate pudding and gelato.
The breakfast menu for the weekend look great. I'll need to try it soon.
Cost: $12 to 15 without tip
Service: Great!
Ambiance: Quiet and Personable. Seems like locals go.
Lunch @Spago Las Vegas
Thank Wolfpuck for the delicious lunch. I grew up in Las Vegas and can not believe I have never been to Spago. It could be possibly that when you live in LV that you try to stay away of tourist. Jody and I needed a quick bit and we saw that surprisingly Spago was not too busy. We were promptly seated at a quiet table and admired the simplicity of the decor. Modern and vibrant and having the feeling of being somewhere else other than Caesars Palace. Jody pointed out that Spago beverage menu had Kokanee, which I had to ask where it was from. He said it was like the Coors Light of Canada and that I had it when we went to Whistler. I ordered buffalo chicken lollipops and Jody ordered bacon wedge salad with black-pepper parmesan dressing. The bleu cheese for the chicken lollipops was amazing. FYI, I dislike bleu cheese.
Cost: about $45
Service: Amazing, on point
Food: Delish

@TKburger - the best burger place ever for $4.59 in Orange County CA
This is the best burger you will ever have in your lifetime. The sauce is too die for.
FYI: Rarely do I eat burgers and this is one of the two spots I will.

@azukisushi San Diego
I love Azuki. Azuki is off the beaten path of downtown and Hillcrest. I found Azuki on my drive up to Balboa dog park. I had friends visiting from Las Vegas for a birthday get-a-way and the Birthday Girl wanted Sushi. I took a chance and suggested Azuki, hoping that it was going to be good. Everyone one of the dishes that was ordered was delish. See the pictures for yourself.

EAT by Rick Mereki
@propergastropub for Sunday Funday.
Proper is the place to be during a Padres Baseball game at Petco Park. The upstairs bar give you a full view of the park. You can't beat $15 pitchers and $5 beer specials while watching your home baesball team. The menu is unique and offers a variety of bar food specialties. Jody loves mac & cheese so seeing the Black & Tan, it was must try. Unfortunately the flavors where to smokey for us, so we didn't enjoy it. I did see a few pizzas so by that looked delish. Go to Proper for an enjoyable view of the baseball game and great drink specials.
Chicago Style Pizza in San Diego @thespotlajolla
Jody's family has been going to The Spot in La Jolla for a very long time. The story goes that my FIL (father-in-law) was living in Chicago at the time and use to eat The Spot in Chicago every Wednesday with friends. He later relocated to Southern CA and came across The Spot in La Jolla. Never did he think that it was the same owners until he struck up a conversation and come to find it was. The owner remembered him and his friends that would meet up at the restaurant in Chicago. My FIL has said that the food and owners have changed but The Spot will always be place we go.

I ate out all weekend. Be looking for new post to come soon.
Urban Bar & Grill San Diego @urbanD5
I usually will give a place a second chance but not with Urban Bar & Grill. www.urbanbarandgrill.com. I chose this place because I saw it on www.restaurant.com and it is somewhat new restaurant. I did not buy a discount coupon but was curious to try to this place for some unknown reason. Jody's friend Keith was taking us out on a business dinner, Thank Goodness because if the money would have come out of our pockets, I would've been more disappointed. The three us of us were seated promptly and not many tables were filled for it being close to the end of happy hour. We started dinner off with a few appetizers; Coconut Shrimp and House made Jalapeno Poppers and complimentary Flatbread and Hummus. The shrimp and poppers came out in 3's. We wondered if there had been 4 of us, if they would have given us 4.
For my dinner entree, I ordered a Caprese Salad. How could a restaurant ruin a caprese salad? Urban Bar & Grill knows how to by not having quality balsamic. As you see from the picture above, the salad does not have enough olive oil and balsmaic and WAY TOO pepper.
Jody ordered the four cheese ravioli. He honestly had 2 bites and couldn't eat anymore. Jody has the tendency to overact when he doesn't enjoy his food so I thought this was one of those nights. I took one bite and didn't want to swallow it. The sauce was bland and didn't taste like anything, not even milk.
The above is Keith's salmon salad. I did not try this by the looks of it, the salmon looks overcooked and dry.
I remember the Mac n Cheese may have been the only item that was alright. Only thing is, I don't remember it being amazing so it still doesn't give me a reason to go back.
The food at Urban Bar & Grill is overpriced Sysco food. The service is not good. We ended up having a 2 hour dinner. We didn't see our server for at least 15 to 20 minutes at the end. We finally had to give the hostess our card. Since we all took maybe a couple bites out of entree's and were still hungry when we walked out. As I stepped out of the restaurant, I called my favorite pizza place to have a pizza delivered by the time I got home.
Save yourself the money don't order anything we ordered.
