So happy was she to see Jett that, for a moment, Gabby didn’t notice anything wrong about him. To her, he seemed like the boy he used to be, wary around most but friendly with her and Hugo, the teen who could hold anything above her and often made her try to jump and get back whatever he’d plucked from her hold just moments before, the young man who’d occasionally flirt with her for shits and giggles (and who she’d jokingly flirt back with)…but something was odd about him. Was he still upset over Summerdale? Maybe he was still having a hard time with people? “Yeah, sure, still the same James Dean Lite I used to know,” she joked back, giving Jett a little pat on the shoulder as she put those thoughts out of her head in an attempt to focus on the present instead of possibilities. “And excuse you, but I was the normal one out of everyone, remember? I didn’t have the weird-ass food combinations you boys had as teenagers; you and Hugo were the weird ones with those…strange body odors and weird facial hair patterns you guys had, you were the weird ones, not me, my dude…no idea what you’re talking about, not one little bit…”
“Jett Hawkins, even better than James Dean, that’s my name, babe... don’t waste it” , he replied with a playful smirk as he shrugged again, trying to keep a chill attitude. As the obvious question still lingered in his mind, Jett wondered if it would be alright to even ask; he knew Summerdale was a delicate topic for all the survivors and that included his friends ( his only real friends ). His thoughts were quickly distracted by her statement and he dropped a loud and mouthful “HA!”, Jett leaned closer to her with a childish smile still on his lips as he lowered his voice down a bit. “ All of us teenage boys are a bit weird around that age, huh? But nah, you know what I’m talking about. I mean... you were hanging out with goddamn witches, some of that sick shit had to stick with you as well, Gabrielle or what? Are you telling me you already forgot when I made your hair pink with a spell that went wrong?”
