samaira sunk into the couch, her SAD gaze drifting downward. the feeling of vulnerability made her uncomfortable. it was something she was always taught to not SHOW but to hide.“how could i not? i   i was the one that saw them that day.” she admitted. it had and always would remain a sore topic with her. one of which she rarely talked about. mainly because the memory itself was pretty traumatic. “yeah…it’s just another problem i have to eradicate deal with.”

     jez smiled at the other, making the mental note that he preferred to be called his full name. she liked it better, too. the familiarity of the bartender to zak made her  RAISE  her brow, but smile at the bartender. ‘ fireball, ‘ she answered promptly. it was either whiskey or something fruity and she didn’t want all that sugar.

     jez couldn’t pretend that she didn’t take it personally. if mai was going to leave, then she’d have to figure something else out. and even if she wasn’t, jez felt terrible about it; she wished she could help, somehow. ‘ what things ? what’s been going on ? ‘
