@jfcashlee
Jace didn’t think much of her answer, but rather offered her a hesitant look before shrugging, “If you must.” he wondered if she’d hinder, but his worries were quickly washed away as the footsteps grew louder, the male waved his hands beckoning her over placing a slender finger over his dried lips - it was foolish to be around at this hour not knowing what was around the corner.
The girl raised a brow as he hushed her, a smile on her lips. So he’s one of those, she thought quietly. The kind that acted like a paid assassin as he defended himself. Ashlee’s hearing was above average, therefore she could infer that there were hardly any walkers nearby. She hardly made a sound as she walked, so that didn’t worry her either. She simply crossed her arms as they continued. “You gonna tell me what you’ve lost?” she whispered.
"I agree, they think they own the place and they act like they’re the only ones in danger," she sighed. "Like our lives are in danger too."
Ashley nodded, chewing on her finger. “Who do you think did it?”
Ivy’s gaze shot quickly upward, her light eyes narrowing as she heard someone talking a few tables away. “I can’t really speak for the rest of my ‘mates, but I can guarantee my innocence. I’m not stupid and I haven’t stolen anything.”
"It’s fine, I’ve been hearing that all night. It doesn’t really matter who took it anyway, the fact is that it’s gone.” Ashlee stood up, gripping the cardboard from below her and hauling it towards a nearby wall. “Because food doesn’t matter, right?” Her voice subconsciously heightened.
"Whatever shit for brains asshole decided to steal our building supplies, you’re gonna have another thing comin’ to you when I figure out who you are," Toby said, tossing a handful of nails against the tile floor, walking away from the mess he’d made. "And I hope you’re the first to go when this place finally gets run down, alright? In fact, I’ll make fuckin’ sure of it."
"What—more were taken?" she scanned the room before clenching a single fist. "We just gathered some fresh stuff, too!" Of couse, nothing was fresh anymore, but they had gotten some new food and supplies just the other day.
With nothing else to do these days besides sit and wait, Oliver leaned his head back on the column as he sat around at the food court. He looked up at the glass ceiling and out at the clouds hanging overhead, “Looks absolutely gorgeous out there,” he grumbled sarcastically to no one in particular.
Strolling by, Ashlee noticed the slumped down male, and paused to follow his gaze. “Right. I was thinking about havin’ a picnic later,” she replied with a mock smile. Considering the disastrous time, she still felt the urge to crack jokes.
"I lost something around here," the brief explanation would probably raise eyebrows, he knew that, but it was no time for discussion. The blonde kept a watchful eye, hoisting his crossbow at the sound of foot steps edging around the corner. Jace was one to abide by the rules, but when the time called he was known to bend a few. "Why are you wandering around?"
The question caused Ashlee to pause for a second, before simply replying with the shrug of a shoulder. “No reason,” she responded as she kept near him. “Do you…need help or something?” she proceeded to ask with narrowed eyes examining her steps.
Jace scoffed, annoyed by the vexed behavior the aloof petite girl portrayed. A quick flick of his finger had the arrow square between the eyes, the male regained his straight stance and shot a glare at the unwanted companion. “It’d be fantastic if you kept your mouth shut, or you’ll attract more of them. This place is crawling with walkers.” He released a short sigh, as he cocked the crossbow a grimace adorning his pale complexion.
Her expression was tainted with a mocking grin as she rolled her dark eyes. They then narrowed a second after, as she studied their surroundings. Ashlee was well aware of the behavior of the walkers among them, although the creatures didn’t phase her behavior one bit. It was as if she dared them to trudge her way, yet her voice remained quiet. “For what reason are you wandering around here at this time, anyway?” The girl was also out and about, but it hadn’t occurred to her anyone else would be as stubborn.
It sounds like rhetorical question to him, but he wasn’t too sure, biting on his fingernail as he stared at her intently. “Um, maybe…” his voice quiet as he began to speak, though he quickly decided to purse his lips afterwards just so he could think of an answer that she wouldn’t chew his head off about. “They’re not.” He told her, scratching the back of his head. “Maybe.. possums took the supplies or other wild animals,” shrugging his shoulders at that dumb response and kicking himself mentally for saying it.
"Maybe. I’m sure we would’ve seen them around though. Animals aren’t that sneaky, or quiet." She nodded, a forced smile on her lips as she continued to focus on the situation in her mind, arguing with her thoughts.
Arden couldn’t help but roll her eyes at the females words. “And of course you’d say that,” she mumbled, knowing where the red head was coming from but not appreciating the accusation any less. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed but our group has a good selection of softies, none of which are capable of stealing. And as for the tough ones, they’re too stubborn to actually feel the need to steal anything.”
"Instead of focusing on why you think it's impossible they did it, have any suggestions for who did?" She motioned to the empty box.
"I know," Hannah mumbled. "I mean, I know they need supplies to like…stay alive and stuff but they could at least ask." She twiddled her thumbs while she looked around, seeing if the new people stole anything or they simply misplaced it.
"We already told them we would share; It’s just greed," she shrugged.
Take a deep breath. Don’t make a sound. Watch your step.
Calamity heavy on his back, as sweat pooled around his brow. Crossbow high in the air; as screeching noises spilled out from the cavities within the brick wall. Another step, another sigh. Jace felt a pang of fear twist in his stomach, as he aimed at the head of, who he was sure was once was, a mother. A lump in her stomach gave away that she was pregnant, and she never had the chance to deliver. The sandy haired male knew better than to squander the rest of his arrows for a bleak moment of solace. The aim was perfect, almost too perfect. It was sick knowing she was once a loving mother, that she was once a loving wife and it would all end the second the arrow meets the space between her eyebrows.
Ashlee strolled along, fingers grazing against the eroded surface of the wall beside her; gaze focused on the ground. The sound of a creature not far from her caused the girl to halt, glancing forward. A few feet away from her stood a boy aiming at what appeared to be a child bearing creature. Careful not to startle him, she didn’t proceed any closer. “You waiting for that thing to pop out of her first?” She challenged him, scoffing. Her hand settled on her belt, where her knife rested. It was either now or never, and he seemed like he wasn’t going to pull the trigger.
Sitting on the ground minding her own business, Arden was humming a soft tune as she held Alex close to her before snapping her head up. “I haven’t gone anywhere near your supplies and although I can’t speak for the rest of my group, I doubt they touched them either,” she replied, glancing at the girl.
"I’ve been hearing that a lot today. In fact, I think I’ve heard that from about each person in your group. Of course you’d all say that." She didn’t look at the girl as she spoke, frustration in her voice.
