Looking at Ivy, Jade swooped her hair behind her ears and nodded to what the other girl was saying. “Not at all,” she spoke as she cleared her throat so her voice didn’t sound so small, “I’m kind of glad to be in a safer place. Even if the people are rude.”
Ivy cocked her head to the side and pursed her lips, a flash of sympathy momentarily softening her normally frigid features. Jade was the first person she'd come into contact with in a while that actually allowed even a hint of weakness to show. "Yeah, same here," she agreed, proffering the smallest of smiles. "I think it's mostly because we're new here, you know? We're strangers. I'm sure people will eventually warm up to us. If not, fuck 'em."
