I am lost. I am confused. I do not know what to feel. My mind is the ever-going ocean, with dark shades of teal. Lacking in light, but a craving to be bright. I want to sob, I want to cry, yet I find myself only looking up at the sky.

âI donât think every Chinese place here is bad, you just have to do your research.â
"i donât think iâve been to EVERY chinese place around here. i mean how many chinese places are there?â

her kindness was met with an initial flicker of confusion, his own brows knitting close together. roman averted his gaze, huffing a soft breath. ânothingâs wrong iâm just⊠tired. puts people on edge, you know?? be back to my normal self after a power nap, or somethinâ.â to prove his point, he offered a slight smile, head tilting.Â
she watched his face as he refused to look at her, telling her it was only exhaustion that caused him to snap and tessa wasnât sure if she believed that was the full reason. when he did finally look at her with the smile, she returned it pulling the edges of her lips up. âyou know you can tell me if somethings wrong right?? iâm uh, iâm here for you. even if you just need a bed.â
salemodonnell !
âPerhaps you just donât like Chinese food.â
"how DARE you say such a thing, of course i like chinese food. what i donât like is BAD chinese food.â

â donât nurse-voice me, i donât like it when you nurse-voice me, â he groaned ( yes groaned and certainly not whined ). â iâve got another outline i have to send in by tomorrow morning. iâll sleep after i finish that. deal ?? â but it wasnât really a deal because she was giving him that look ( still ) which meant she wasnât going to let this go. â canât you just be fun and stop by to keep me company at four in the morning ?? â
the girl rolled her eyes at him again when he told her not to ânurse voiceâ her. â nice try but no deal. â she said even though she was almost certain he already knew that she wasnât going to let him off that easy. â or you can stay here, we can watch movies in bed until you eventually fall asleep, which is equally as fun âÂ

âWell, thatâs your problem right there! Youâre lookinâ for Chinese food in North Carolina. Youâre better off trying one of the seafood places on the waterfront, Iâd say.â
tessa let a small dramatic pout cross her lips before letting out a sigh. âi donât want to have to give up my chinese food though. i guess seafood is as good a second option as any though. wheres the best place to go?â

silence had filled the room and it felt like he had begun to speak to himself more-so then the random who walked as if they were in a trance, as the only other customer in the store made an exit and the bells tolled once more he watched her carefully until she finally turned to respond, and his gaze matched hers as if he was searching for something but there was no way that what he thought was  right there in front of him was real, there was no way in HELL that his younger sister had come here after all this time. The accent froze him and he was set back, his legs beginning to buck in hopes of finding some support and her name, her name alone destroyed him. For once the giant like man felt weakness, something he hadnât felt in YEARS, as he made his way around the counter and towards the glass door he turned the lock, the knocking of its metal clanked around the store before he turned the sign to closed and focused on her. âHowâd you find me.â The man spoke clearly, his blue hues scruning as his face tightened and his fist balled up, âYouâre not supposed to be here, HOWâD you find me?
after tessa spoke, no response came from him but there was definitely a reaction. something she said or did changed his entire demeanor. she watched from where she stood as slowly he started to move around the counter and tessa couldnât help but become slightly tense. she didnât know him or what he would do so she didnât move, she barley breathed, as he walked passed her to the door. âwhat, what are you..?â her questioned trailed off since it was answered when she saw him turn the lock. tessa intently went cold, fear running though her body, she was regretting coming into the store more and more by the second. her wide eyes connected with his as he focused on her and he finally spoke. tessa didnât know what to say, she had no intention of finding him, no intention of moving to the same place he was of all the places in the world. âi donât know what you are talking about?â tessa spat the words out, her eyebrows knitted together in confusion. âi DIDNâT come looking for you! i didnât know you would be here!â
kitnclan !
â okay, butâi guess iâd have to sayâalright, iâm not actually sure what you just said. i was thinking about⊠actually, iâi canât remember. waitâwhat were you saying ? ( how long have you been sitting there ? ) donât give me that look. listen, i havenât slept in forty-six hours â give me a break. â
tessa couldnât help but roll her eyes as she listened to the male ramble, once again he had stayed up way past an healthy amount of time. â kit, for god sake you have to stop doing that. â tessa said with a sigh. â we both know hospital food sucks, so lets TRY to sleep today? â she was acting like she was giving him an option but she knew she wouldnât let him leave without getting at least a few hours sleep.
ofroman !
ââ iâm⊠sorry. that was SERIOUSLY rude, i shouldnât have snapped at you like that; it was totally uncalled for. can i make it up to you somehow?? i would offer money but iâm verging on broke, so that might be a bit of a stretch.â
tessa looked at the male with her eyebrows scrunched together, she knew that he didnât mean to snap at her, but when it did it made her want to jump on the defensive side. but hearing his apology she knew he meant it. âhey, itâs OKAY. i donât need your money roman, just tell me whats wrong?? you donât seem like yourself.âÂ

âOh, you should try this place called Double Happiness. Itâs delicious. Not fully authentic by any means, but still worth the price. Iâve only been here a few months and Iâve already been there several times.â
"as long as it wonât leave me laying on the couch thinking iâm dying, than itâs good enough for me,â tessa said with slight relief. âcould you write out some directions? or even lead the way? i still get lost in these streets sometimes.
micckey !
âi have loads of secrets.â oh the truth behind that simple phase. a soft grin tugged at her lips, chuckling fondly at her friendâs teasing and over exaggerated remarks. âpizza fixes everything. even friendships that are on the rocks. - extra pepperoni and double cheese?â her eyes narrowed, the question asked as though it would make all the difference to her decision.
"it i was you not liking chinese food isnât something iâd want to tell people either.â tessa said playful, sharing a small laugh with the brunette. hearing mickeyâs pizza choice the smile on her face widened a bit, âi knew we would work everything out. that is exactly what i was thinking.â tessa held her arm out to link it with the other female âlead the way.â

the charms of a hollow tomb filled his sense of hearing but, he paid no attention to that rather focused on the weapon in hand, the clip that had just recently been refilled and the safety pin that had been snapped off, with one quick pull of the trigger the gun would echo and release the ash, and perhaps the blood of another if aimed correctly but instead his thumb ran over the small switch and Walker dropped the weapon back into itâs arsenal case âall set, try not to get a sticky finger this time, mate.â with a single nod he bid the other a due and turned his gaze to his newest customer. small girl, big eyes, it had become accustom surprisingly but something about her put him off, those eyes ran deep and shallow, something he had gotten lost in before, but he brushed the idea off and flashed the other a smile, âif youâre looking for the brekkie, bub, youâd best try down the block, donât sell anything of your interest here,â he whisked out, the Australian accent bleeding through his masking American one.Â
once tessa fully absorbed her surroundings she finally started to move her feet, looking at the shelves that were stocked full with ammunition, silencers, earmuffs, scopes; all things she had seen on tv but never in front of her before. she delt with the after math, the injuries that the guns cause, never the guns themselves. hearing the voices coming from the front counter tessa looked up at the man purchasing the gun and then to the owner. looking at him tessa felt like her stomach was sinking in, he perfectly resembled the man from the photograph she kept stored away in her wallet. but there was no way it could be him, what were the odds of running into the brother who gave her up. âiâm not looking for the brekkie, and the names not bub, itâs -â tessa froze for a moment, if this really WAS the man from the picture, her brother. she didnât want to reveal herself until she was sure â - patterson.â she choose her adoptive last name. âand iâm here to get a gun, figure this is the place to do it.â she lied through her teeth. she didnât want a gun, but if this was how she was going to figure out if this was really who she thought it might be, a gun would be the least of her worries.
