Jay Six Ranch . In 1936, Joe Kennedy sent his two eldest sons to Arizona to work on John Speiden's ranch near Benson: Joe Jr. to prepare for his season at Harvard, and Jack to convalesce. They rounded up the livestock, repaired the fences. During his stay, Jack constructed buildings that appear to still stand today. The two brothers were paid one dollar a day. Reportedly, Speiden worked both Kennedys very hard.
