Melted Ice

I used to put ice in my alcohol, and sip it very slow. That’s when I would drink just for show; to prove I was grown up (I wasn’t), to show I could handle it (but I couldn’t.) I vaguely remember the condensation rings the glasses of alcohol left on whatever surface I “lost my drink” on. Now, as an adult, I just take a few slugs of warm whiskey from a bottle. Many people say it isn’t lady-like but it gets the job done.

The world is scary because we cannot be everywhere at once and we are on here for a very long time, although others may see it as very short, we are on here for a very long time, and we will never see the whole world. We can only be one place at once. We can only be one person at once. We are just one person and we build our own little life and we nestle into it, creating a home, creating meaning, and we assign it as much purpose as we choose, and we choose and design and build our own small world, and although it’s scary how our world is small and we can only cover so little it is amazing how our lives are built in synchronicity with so many others, and we each take up our own little space, so many people, doing small things in small spaces, until the whole world is full. “4″ by jfkcarolineswag
