Having noticed the other, she didn’t want to distract her from baking and potentially causing an accident if Kara were to unintentionally scare her so as she was finally noticed by the other, she awkwardly waves a little and laughs. “I would love to.” She muses and nods her head. “Is there a reason for all this sudden baking?”

jean smiled warmly at the woman before running her fingers through her hair again, “i actually saw this video on instagram and it made me hungry,” she mused honestly before moving over to give the other woman space.

“  six  bowls.  got  it.  that’s  a  lot  of  bowls.  ”  jean  paul  went  to  go  look  for  the  bowls,  he  knew  that  had  to  be  somewhere  in  this  massive  kitchen.  finding  the  cabinet  with  bowls,  he  grinned  to  himself.  “  what  is  the  good  cause  that  we’re  making  this  cake  for?  ”    

“well, it does say it is going to be quite high,” she hummed with a bright smile as she continued mixing the ingredients together, “well, i was hungry and i saw this video of someone making it on instagram, and here we are.”

The floating objects caught Bruce’s attention, cautiously watching them as they seemed to work around the young woman, deducing she had to be behind their movements. Was she a meta human, or did she possess magical abilities? The man didn’t have too much time to inspect or ponder on the idea, the red head meeting his gaze and inviting him to lend her a hand. “I’m not much of a baker.” He paused. “Or a cook. At all.” Bruce watched her for a moment longer, then decided to step closer, nodding towards the stirring spoon. “How are you doing that?”

“i don;t think you need to be a much of anything to try,” she suggested with a warm smile as she watched the male move closer. blinking a few times to wonder what they were referring to before her eyes widened slightly before giving them an answer, “this would be do to my mutant powers. i have a few different tricks up my sleeve. but what you see right now is my telekinesis.”

“Sure, why not. It can’t be that hard, right?” Roy answers as he heads over, albeit a little reluctantly. Still, baking can’t be that hard - if you compare it to building things or tinkering with equipment, it’s all about methods, following the right steps and adding the right pieces to get to a certain outcome. That.. should be easy, right? “I’ve never really tried baking, but maybe I’ll be a natural.”

jean grinned brightly as she moved over to allow room for the other, before pointing down at the book on the counter, “rainbow layered cake. i have always wanted to try making one,” she mused before nodding her head, “you never know.”

                it was almost as though the woman knew exactly how to make mj shut the hell up & agree to help. lifting her fingers up to her temples , the human managed to rub her temples for a moment before finally letting out a huff & walking over. ‘ fine , what the hell am i supposed to do ? ’

“well, if you really want to help out, i need the eggs whisked into the butter and sugar before adding the flour,” the woman spoke as she continued shifting through the lumpy flour.

 the  male  looked  down  at  the  recipe  in  front  of  him,  picking  it  up  to  get  a  better  look  at  it.  "  this  looks  like  a  heart  attack in  one  cake.  "  shaking  his  head,  he  set  down  the  recipe  and  clapped  his  hands  together.  "  alright,  let’s  do  this.  are  you  mixing  everything  in  the  one  bowl?  or  do  we  need  to  seperate  it  all  out  for  the  colors?  “

“well, at least it is for a good cause. cake is the best cause of all, “ she grinned before nodding her head, “we need to separate it in different bowls. we need a bowl for pink, blue, orange, green, purple and yellow.”

giving a small nod at the instruction, jason made his way around the kitchen. he was careful to set distance between the two of them && always leaned towards spaces where it’s easy to bolt if needed. after washing his hand, the noirette finds himself a whisk && starts whipping the eggs into the butter && sugar. the moment he starts whisking the ingredients together, his body instantly lax at the familiar motion; a small smile on his face as the sense of serenity washing over him. “ so, what are you planning to make? ”

the red head didn’t force the situation with the other as she continued to attempt to cook the cake in the book on the counter. if anyone knew what it was like to be forced into a situation, it was jean. looking up, she smiled softly before pointing at the picture in the book, “it is a rainbow layered cake. it looks amazing.”

“people believe ridiculous things,” she says, lightly. she wants to ask further questions, wonders what beliefs are resulting in the woman being cursed at, but she stops herself. “sorry, rude of me,” she says, holding her hand out. “i’m harriet colby.”

“you are telling me,” she hummed softly with a nod of her head, “if you want to ask, you can ask,” jean spoke kindly before shaking the other’s hand, “pleasure. jean grey.”

jason watched with slight awe at the scene before him, && when the other calls him over, he hides himself more behind the wall. ( this kind of reminds him of his first day at the manor. hiding behind a wall, peeking over to watch the british butler bake his infamous cookies. && alfred would call out to him, extend a warm invitation to him as if he’s already been part of the family for ages ) reluctantly, he peeks his head back in to look at the red head before him – assessing if he should run for it or join her. ( but now he looks at the other a bit more, she kind of reminds him of kori with that fiery red hair && warm smile ) “ sure. i guess. ” jason replies back softly before slowly walking into the room. ( he looks carefully analysis the room, already planning all the escape routes in case he would need it ) “ what do you want me to do? ”

jean kept a gentle smile on her face as she watched the other out of the corner of her eye as she continued to move around the kitchen. she knew better than to force the other to join her and would let them decide to join her or not, “well, if you could just whip the eggs into the butter and sugar, that would be perfect, thank you.”

the man chuckled before nodding. “alright fine – you’ve convinced me.” he stated before taking a few steps into the kitchen, the smell of sweetness hitting him instantly.

the red head’s grin brightened as she heard the words leave bobby’s mouth before moving over to allow space for him, “awesome! it is always more fun baking with someone else than alone.”

     swallowing hard, ari fights the urge to sprint away upon realising it’s jean. two years since he ran from the x-men and he still felt shame for it. he just wants to be back in his cabin, far away from everyone in the middle of the woods where he couldn’t hurt anyone. he doesn’t want to hurt another person ever again. but the monster in him… he doubts it’ll stay locked away for long. ❝ i- i’m fine. ❞ his voice isn’t as strong as he likes to he repeats himself. ❝ i’m fine, jean. i’m- i’m just not use to cities. ❞

jean nodded her head gently as she listened to the other, keeping her distance still before speaking, “i can definitely understand that,” she hummed softly before leaning against a spare wall, taking in their surroundings, “is there something i can do to help?”

bobby couldn’t help but chuckle as he looked at the girl in front of him. “if i’m going to end up looking as big of a mess as you right now, i don’t think i want too.” he said jokingly with a smile. “i’m really not a good cook either.”

“ouch, that hurts, bobby,” she grinned as she placed her hand over her heart, feigning hurt, “come on, it is one of those massive tower rainbow cake and i will let you eat it all. as long as you promise me a slice.”

 jean  paul  didn’t  know  anything  about  baking,  he  stopped  in  the  doorway  look  at  the  woman.  it  looked  like  she  didn’t  either.  not  really,  his  lips  stretching  into  a  small  (  almost  pained  )  smile.  "  i  don’t  think  i’ll  be  much  help.  but  i  can  try.  “  he  walked  into  the  kitchen,  noting  how  much  flour  had  really  gotten  everywhere  and  rolled  up  the  sleeves  of  his  shirt.  ”  what  are  you  attempting  to  bake  here?  “

“only if you don’t mind,” the red head offered the other a slight smile before turning back to the mess in front of her. looking back up, she pushed the recipe for a rainbow layered cake to him, “this but it is not going too well as you can obviously see.”

“do you get cursed at often?” harriet asks, slightly bemused. “if so, i’m sorry to add to that load.” she shakes her head, but there’s a small smile on her lips. “it’s a strange situation we’re in.”

“you would be surprised but judging on some people’s beliefs and views, then you wouldn’t be,” she hummed with a smile, before laughing as she agreed with the other, “you could say that again.”

                the spoon continued to stir whatever was in the damn bowl, which only made mj stop in her spot. ‘ oh hell no, ’ she stated – probably ruder than was intended as her hands instantly raised to her sides. head shook side to side quickly as she took a quick step back. ‘ i just bought this outfit, and i am not in the mood to take a shower to get fuckin’ flour out of my hair. you clearly have no clue what you’re doing, ’ she muttered, hands slowly lowering. ‘ unless alcohol is involved, i’m out, dude. ’

jean raised an eyebrow in interest at the younger female, watching how she was reacting. shrugging one shoulder up, she smiled and continued to combined the ingredients, “well then, enjoy your day then.”

Jean Grey is the only class five mutant I’ve ever encountered, her potential limitless. Her mutation is seated in the unconscious part of her mind and therein lay the danger. jean laughed softly at herself as she ran her flour covered hands in her red hair, a mess in front of her for baking. lifting her eyes up, her eyes glistened in the lights as she beckoned the other over, her telekinesis keeping the spoon stirring, “do you want to come and help? i could definitely use another set of hands or some company,” she spoke kindly, smile still on her face.
