Popping in to add some commentary on this whole Ryan Adams fiasco. Just a reminder that abusers do not add to their long list of victims by being who they really are from the get-go. People like this spend A LOT of time learning to hide their true self in order to get what they want. This ugly chorus of “well these women should have known” kills me. Do you think Ryan was an abominable piece of shit to these women right off? Of course not. Give them some credit for fucks sake. He feigned interest in their art while pretending to be some fun-loving fan and had an end game the entire time. Asking women to be on guard every single second of their lives in order to preemptively ID behavior like this is exhausting, sad, and completely unrealistic.
And for those people truly missing the boat, let us not skim over the part in the NYT article where exposed himself to an underage girl and requested photos, all while being actively paranoid about her age. Let’s go ahead get that FBI inquiry rolling already.
