“If you’re sure, I don’t mind paying.” She shrugged. “You’re not kidding on that. Especially Taco Bell. I can’t eat it. Too processed after tasting genuine if you ask me.” She shook her head. “How about we get a burger or something?” Ophelia suggested.

“How about you can help pay if this isn’t a date?” Jia asked expectantly. Better to get the awkward out of the way now if the attraction was one sided. “Ooh, there’s a little burger joint down the road that’s delicious.”

“Sounds like torture.” She joked with her - confirmed with a playful nudge to the side. “Of course I’m okay with it. Want to get food?”

“I’d love to,” she beamed, offering the other girl her arm. “Whatever you want, on me, though I have to ask we don’t go to Mexican food. Ever since I’ve had actual Mexican food, American Mexican food is disgusting to me.”

“That’s okay. It’s better than no one! That’s the thing though, it is about straight people also supporting gay people or else it remains the state it is in and has been in.” She sighed. “Oh wow, that sounds like so much fun! Obviously, let me know how I can help in any way.”

“I’ll let you know when we’re closer to figuring it out. I mean, we don’t even have our first meeting for another month. So until then, you’re just stuck hanging out with me.” She wiggled her eyebrows before saying “If you’re okay with that, that is.”

“Everything has to have a perk, Jia.” She laughed. “Great! I can’t wait to start. Who else is in the club?”

“So, including you and me, there are five members right now,” she admitted, slightly embarrassed. “But I think it’s only because people think it’s just for gay people when it’s not? Like, straight is literally in the title.” She giggled before saying “I’m actually hoping we can pull off a drag show slash rave for a fundraiser this year.”

“I’m bi so I guess I’m the middle ground. I’ll bring everyone together!” She joked with a big grin on her face though. She’d always been passionate about the LGBTQ+ community so it was nice to be with someone who felt the same. 

“Great!” Jia smiled. “Sorry, I’m not... trying to use the club to find pretty girls or anything, it’s just... a perk?” She shook her head, trying to keep her cool. “Wow, I really need to shut up, but yes, of course, we’d love to have you.”

“Sounds good to me!” She grinned. “No problem at all. I’m just lucky that I’m small so horse riding is kinda easier. Maybe not so much the getting on and off the horse.” She considered for a moment but her ears perked up at the last part. “I was looking to sign up for the Gay Straight Alliance later today actually. Guess you found me instead!”

Jia gasped before squealing a bit. “Yay!” she said before biting her lip before asking coyly “So... can I ask which part of the alliance you want to be a part of?”

“Thanks but feel free to nickname me if it’s a bit much. I know it’s a mouthful.” She laughed. “I love horse riding and travelling. I love seeing the world and different cultures and such.” She smiled. “What about you? What are you in to?”

“Ooh, how about Lia? So we can be Lia and Jia? It’s fate, honestly,” she beamed before nodding along. “That’s cool! We have a horse... team... thing here? Sorry, I’m not up to date on all the horse terminology, but I’ve travelled a lot to. We should compare passports.” She giggled before shrugging. “I’m a dancer. Cheerleader, and president of the Gay Straight Alliance.”

“No one has but I would love one.” She took the other girl’s hand with a shake. “Ophelia. Nice to meet you!” 

“Ooh, Ophelia, that’s gorgeous!” she complimented, not even trying to flirt this time; she was a sucker for extra names. “Nice to meet you too! Alright, what’re you into? Like, hobbies and shit.”

A smile soon grew back on to her features when she saw the girl. “I definitely missed ‘much’ if you were there.” She looked her up and down. “New as new can be.”

Jia bit her lip, happy the other girl seemed receptive to her flirtatious nature. “Well, has anyone offered to show you around yet? Because I’ll happily volunteer as tribute.” She held out her perfectly manicured hand for the other girl to shake. “I’m Jia.”

“I missed camping?” She questioned and then groaned. “I have the worst timing in the history of worst timing. Maybe not the worst… there’s always one pump chumps but that’s besides the point.” She chuckled. “It sucks being new.”

“Don’t worry, you didn’t miss much,” she assured the girl. Jia then gave her a quick once over before asking “So you are new? I thought I’d remember your face if I’d seen you before.”

“Oh wow! Maybe when we’re back at school. I wouldn’t want you dancing on this ground.” It was uneven and she was concerned about the other maybe hurting herself. “Oh yeah, I could definitely do that. I’ve never really been commissioned before but I’d definitely work with you on what you wanted for a homecoming dress.” Any money she received from doing stuff like this would most likely go to help her mum and siblings. 

“Yeah, I’m way more confident dancing in heels anyway,” she giggled. When they get to the lake, Jia took off her shorts as she spoke. “Sounds great! Just tell me what you want your hourly rate to be and I’ll cover that and the materials.”

She could feel her cheeks still heating up and moved her hands to brush against the skin as a natural reaction to hide them. “Dancing, that’s awesome! I’ll have to see you dance sometime.” She suggested. “I like sewing clothes and designing them. I used to run charity fashion shows back in my little town. Made all the dresses and suits myself.”

“Oh, I can show you a dance whenever you want,” Jia beamed, putting her hair into a bun on top of her head. “I learn choreography for fun so I always have a dance to show off.” Her eyes lit up at that. “Oh, that’s so cool! Could I hire you to make something for me?” she asked. “Just tell me your rate and we can work something out. I’m going to need something stunning for Homecoming.”

“Absolutely! You’re really nice, Jia.” She complimented. “So what are you in to? Like hobbies and stuff.”

“I can’t help but be nice to a pretty girl like you,” Jia smiled before shrugging. “Well, I’m a cheerleader, but dance is basically my life. I’m hoping to be a professional dancer after I graduate, like maybe a backup dancer for kpop stars or something. What about you?”

“No problem at all.” Sinead smiled. Jia had worked out the hack to constantly keep Sinead blushing. It was compliments that were her weakness. “I skipped it. It’s kinda nerve wracking when you don’t really know people to be in that big of a crowd. I saw it for a second and then kinda went back to my tent.” She confessed.

Her blush was adorable, and Jia made a mental note to try and keep it there as long as possible. “Aw, damn, we could’ve hung out,” she said with a slight pout before shooting her a dazzling smile. “Well, at least we have now, right? I cannot wait to get to know you better.”

“I’d love to.” She smiled, gesturing for her to lead the way. “How’s the tent treating you?”

“Beautifully, thanks to you,” Jia said, leading her towards the lake. “I didn’t see you at the bonfire last night, did you skip it? Or was I just too drunk to catch that gorgeous smile?”

“Hey you,” Jia greeted, walking up to the blonde in her bikini top and shorts. “I was just headed to the lake for a swim, do you wanna come?”

miles-santiago‌:

“I am, yeah!” He said enthusiastically. He was in his element, basically. Being helpful, making himself useful and camping. All of these made the boy feel so much better about himself. Miles was even comfortable enough to crack a joke or two: “Do I sense a fan?” He gave her a quick look before focusing back on the tent. Even though it was easy for him to put the tent together, Miles still had this concentrated face while doing so. The boy was many things, but certainly not a multi-tasker. After roughly a minute of fumbling around with the sticks and fabric, he had her tent ready to go. “Aaaand, boom! One double tent coming up! Now you’re not homeless anymore!” 

“You sense a cheerleader,” she smiled, gesturing to herself. “So it’s kind of in my job description to be a fan. Congrats, by the way. I’m Jia,” she introduced, holding out her hand for him to shake. She then squealed happily at the tent, throwing her arms around the boy. “Thanks, babe! I owe you one!”
