Summary: You are married to the crime lord of Brooklyn, Steve Rogers after your father decided to use you as collateral to settle his debts with the mob.

You were numb, walking down the isle with a hand on your father’s arm. Your family owned a small furniture shop and the business took a nose dive in the recession. At first, you still got by, the days started to get harder when you couldn’t make the rent even your father had to let go all of his employees.
He took a risky move and borrowed some money with a high interest from an acquaintance. He regretted until this day when the people from the street turned up in your shop since he couldn’t make the payment. The debt has been sold to them.
You reached the end of the isle, Steve stood tall in a white tie tuxedo, his expression unreadable. Your father gave your an apologetic look and a kiss on your cheek before he transferred your ownership to the man who now held your hand.
Your mind drifted back to the arguments your parents had over this marriage, how your mother fought hard for you and spoke her mind against the arrangement. Still, it didn’t change anything. The day the wedding gown and headdress were sent to your home, you knew everything was set and done.
A tight grip on your hand pulled you back to reality, your eyes met with Steve’s. The pastor looked at you and asked again, “Will you, my child?”
You took in a deep breath and whispered out “Yes, I will.”
“Will you Steve Rogers, take Y/N Y/L/N as your lawfully wedded wife, promise to love her, comfort her, honor her as long as you both shall live?
