she who was once my everything !!
She remained knelt in front of Tony, the hopeful smile fading as she sat there listening to him. How was this going to work? The others had already been branded criminals && she threw her name into that lot. They’d already been captured back in Germany, but Natasha would still be hunted by the countries && governments who supported the Accords.
The redhead would have to be really smart about where to go next. Get in contact with Steve in some way, wherever he might be. She knew that Wanda, Clint, && the others were locked up somewhere hidden, but it would only be a matter of time before Steve would find a way to break them out. Natasha wanted to help, no matter the cost. They all needed to be together again.
Biting her lip, she thought about what to do in regards to the man she still loved, && what course of action to follow. Natasha didn’t want to leave the engineer again; that vicious cycle of leaving && returning needed to be broken. Cerulean hues trailed over to the bag she had dropped next to the chair she had been sitting on just a moment ago.
❛ There is something that might allow me to stay && be hidden in plain sight. It was a parting gift from Nick after the mess in DC. ❜ Natasha had been referring to the camotech she had used when she impersonated Councilwoman Hawley. It had been how she remained in the shadows whenever she wasn’t with her fellow Avengers. Maybe Tony would be willing to help her upgrade it even further.
❛ We made sure that the only ones who knew about us were the rest of the team, right? Cause if so, then Ross wouldn’t see this coming. The camotech would make it so that facial && voice recognition from any cameras wouldn’t work, meaning I could stay with you while we help the others && keep some people out of trouble. ❜
Her gaze shifted back to him, eyes filled of hope. ❛ What do you say? ❜
It was a thought, to say the least, but there was so much precaution that followed the idea. Not only did Natasha have to be wary of her own actions, which was simple enough for the assassin, but she had to choose her words carefully at all times, create an entirely new identity to live among humans and mutans, men and women alike, and create a diversion to distract the world from finding Natasha Romanoff.
His ego was getting in the way and he knew it — he feared involvement with the authorities, for Ross to discover what events may happen after this and order a search through the once again Stark Tower, or to order the hunt for both himself and Natasha. But then again, if he let her go this very moment, wouldn't someone discover this conversation anyway? It was a lose-lose situation, unless he took their romance as a win, then they were just criminals in love.
This was just a bad Bonnie and Clyde joke.
The camotech — photostatic veil, whatever — could hold three different faces, would change the voice of the user, and would have to be an already existant person. The engineer leaned in to kiss her forehead, lowering his hands from her face and raising his own head up to look at the run-down ceiling. Boy, did they have work to do.
"Let's get out of here before someone finds us. Do you have everything you need?" His eyes never left the crack on the ceiling just above him. It wasn't important — it was just aesthetically pleasing in a way, symbolic because of how shattered the room was compared to the two of them, something like that. "We're gonna head back to the tower and set things up from there. Temporary identity, a better plan than what we have, and well," he shrugged, "more tech."
Looks like Tony Stark made his decision. The futurist looked back down at her, inhaling deeply in a brief moment of fear — if Howard saw him now, Tony wondered if he'd be proud or dissapointed in the choice. Getting on his feet, he reached a hand down to her to help her up, a confident grin on his face. He'd save his panic attack for later — not like the government ever stopped him from doing anything anyway.
"Think you could control a suit?"
