Oh you thought I was done* being silly? Please. [I need a lighthearted break from the Girondins-related frustrations!] It's down to the final negotiations...
Which political marriage saves France?
Saint-Just & Carnot
Saint-Just & Desmoulins
Choose carefully! The fate of the patrie/Europe/the world depends on it! Do you bind the military minds — the heroe of Fleurus and the organizer of victory? Or will you capture the hearts of the people with words — laconic justice with the pen's eloquence?
*Because I did this and I'm not sorry
TIME TO PROPAGANDIZE FOR MY GLORIOUS SHIP CREATION: ✨️JUSTNOT✨️
They ragebait each other across media! They're forced to work together while they lead the military affairs! They hatefuck on battleplans and maps!
The Ideologue and the Technocrat!
Can they even GET ALONG?
One hates being patronized and father figures so badly he gained his fame by condemning to death the father of the kingdom for the very crime of existing! He doesn't have father issues at all!
The other longs to be a father figure to 20-something-yo men as much as he craves a son of his own that he truly desperately needs to call after his favorite poet because he's such a nerd! He doesn't have reverse father issues either at all!
Yes, they're both absolute nerds! And write asinine poetry! And have icy mathematical minds though one is into polisci! And there's probably a lot of other stuff I can't remember right now but I'm sure @aedislumen will!
TIME FOR GIFS
Ship so terrifying it overshadowed the entire point of the infamous BBC docudrama! What was that about? Who cares! Look at this instead:
And this:
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED THERE?
Look at this completely seamless edit:
And that's not all!
They have a whole other movie too:
Oh my:
They wanna fuck so bad. Like, come on.
And we can't forget whatever the hell that is:
Or this:

What a fantastic clip! I’d love to know where the footage for “Lazare Carnot ou Le glaive de la révolution” was sourced.
A cathedral, it needs marble and bricks and careful calculations so that the towers would not fall. And it also needs the idea of heaven; a reason that lasts beyond a single lifetime.
A victory, it needs an army and cannons and cathedral bells melted into copper to forge cannonballs. And it needs something to fight for; a reason greater than death.
A republic, it is a tower of paper and an army on the march.
It needs an army that defends a nation and not a ruler; an army of hundreds of thousands drafted in a year; it needs signature after signature, night after night; the brutal necessity of survival; and in the end it brings the kind of victory that is organized, measured in its trajectory and engineered to completion.
It may take a long time to understand that it needs the ideals too; perhaps one cannot be condemned for focusing on the tower and leaving the (centuries and) skies for others.
An engineer; a general; an organizer; a survivor. Perhaps a tragedy, unspoken, and a complexity of life that merits both memory and story.
Happy birthday, Lazare Carnot.

Happy birthday, Maximilian.
Leaning on the railing, I listen quietly to the patter of rain, my thoughts turning to the people of my homeland.
Happy Birthday, Maximilian! 🎂The title is 🐱, so I won't say it.Although it feels a bit sombre to share this on such a joyful occasion as a birthday, I’m afraid I might forget to post it later, so I’m sharing it today. As for why I chose the lily of the valley, I have my own thoughts. I feel that Robespierre is very much like a lily of the valley. The lily of the valley is humble and unassuming; it is neither ostentatious nor harsh, yet it is far from bland. Its fragile life displays a unique resilience—a beauty that can only be discovered upon closer inspection—yet its fragrance draws others’ attention, making one unable to resist drawing near. Lily of the valley is often seen as a harbinger of happiness; surely Robespierre was a figure to whom the people’s hopes were pinned. Robespierre himself was in pursuit of ‘happiness’ (and I too wish him happiness). Lily of the valley also symbolises purity and the dawn of happiness, much like Robespierre’s own ‘incorruptibility’ and his stance as a guardian. Yet the entire lily-of-the-valley plant is poisonous, and highly so. Thus, Robespierre never attained true happiness; even if he did, it would have been fatal. However, the poison does not strike out aggressively; rather, it serves as a form of self-preservation. The lily-of-the-valley often grows in valleys or secluded spots, and Robespierre’s fundamental character was defensive; he did not entrust his trust lightly. He was also a dangerous figure, steadfastly upholding his own principles. Lily of the valley is also mysterious, much like Robespierre, whose true inner self is difficult to penetrate; one can never fully fathom his thoughts.
I wish that the textbook for school would stop saying "Robespierre and the CPS" as if Robespierre existed on a separate plane to the other 11 members.
It’s pointless, but it’s great fun
I still find this translator difficult to use—or is it just that my English isn’t very good?

I didn’t draw it!It’s actually a piece I created for the Qixi Festival. In China, the red thread symbolises being bound together by fate, whilst in other parts of East Asia, it seems to represent soulmates. I think it’s a beautiful image! It’s very fitting.English isn’t my first language, so I might not have expressed myself clearly—apologies.
Hello! I saw your beautiful artwork with Carnot and Saint-Just: it's truly gorgeous. May I ask you why you decided to draw SJ among roses and Carnot among cornflowers? It's a rather peculiar choice. One last thing: what's written behind both of them?
Hello, thank you ever so much for your kind words about this piece. It was commissioned by a friend of mine, and upon discussing her vision, she shared that she felt these two flowers perfectly captured the spirit of Carnot and Saint-Just. She was particularly fond of the blue cornflower, which represents hope and symbolises patriotism and liberty, while the red rose embodies courage (in my view). The text behind Carnot and Saint-Just is excerpted from their speeches.English is not my native language, and I have utilised a translation tool. Consequently, there may be instances where the wording is not entirely precise. My apologies for any confusion this may cause.

There was an error regarding the flower varieties, for which I apologise. I hope you will kindly overlook it.
