Daily reminder to leave comments on fics to make someone's day after so much hard work 🥰

Kudos are great, Reblogs are great but it can feel so quiet without the comments. Even just a few words of encouragement, appreciation and deserved gratitude can go a long way!

If you don't know what to say, you can always:

say how the work made you feel: made you laugh, cry, sad, happy. Point out which parts made you feel what

quote the parts you really enjoyed or stood out to you and say why

say where you were or what you were doing when you read it and how it affected your day (there were so many instances when a great fic completely derailed my plans and I had to sneak out somewhere to scream internally and fangirl lol)

discuss characters, plot and theories, once you get talkative it will start pouring out lol

you can even use a meme!

honestly, at least just say "thank you" and how much you enjoyed it

extremely relevant bonus point: if you like the story so much that you're gushing about it with your friends and recommending it to them, the writer would love to hear all of that gushing even more than anyone 😂

Hi Anon,

Thank you for asking.

Partners share the same prompt, and they can of course collaborate, but the idea is also to meet another jily fan, who you can brainstorm with, as well as it is more fun to be 'in something together' than it is to work on something solo (we know some people don't mind going solo at all, and not all pairings will become online fandom soulmates (maybe just soup-mates;-) but it's a great way to meet another Jily enthusiast!

Thank you for signing up to the Medieval May Jily challenge. Because we do feel shirtles MAY is always a thing, for all of our lovely participants we suggest making the most of the historical fact that washing and personal hygiene were definitely a thing back in the dark ages (apparently, don't ask for my sources but do with this knowledge what you will). Other than taking a refreshing bath, it's not unthinkeable that shirts and mail would have to be stripped away in order to have a better look at any injuries (or ceremonial bathings before a knighting or crowning could take place). Mystery Microfic May - FAQ

1. Do I have to be part of the discord in order to participate?

It’s not a requirement, but we’ve found discord is the easiest platform for talking about events and giving updates. You can send us an ask (or DM one of the micros mod team) to get access to the prompt list if you don’t want to join the Discord. 2. What happens if two authors select the same prompt?

Not an issue! There’s no claim on prompt words 3. Can I submit for more than one prompt?

We allow for up to one submission per author. You may use as many of the prompt words in that submission as you like.

4. Does it matter if I’m new to the jily fandom and haven’t posted much or at all yet?

No! All the more reason to participate - this is all just a bit of fun. We’d just love to see more jily content out there. 5. When will authors be revealed?

Once all polls have closed.

6. What if I want to do prompts but don’t want to take part in the event?

That’s totally okay! That’s why we have a separate AO3 subcollection for the event. May micros will still run as normal with the prompt list pinned and you can add them to the usual AO3 collection - micros added to the regular AO3 collection won’t be included in the event.
