There is something so disgusting about the way a lot of creators treat fanfiction.

You'll see a creator reacting to animatics and fanart and fan songs and cosplays, and it's nothing but praise. Even when they see stuff that is probably made by a literal child and, objectively, really not good, they will never make fun of it. They will praise it just the same as art-museum level works of art.

And then that SAME CREATOR will be constantly poking fun at fanfiction, always making it the butt of the joke and calling it weird and cringe. Making videos 'reacting' to fanfic where they deliberately seek out that objectively not good stuff that was, again, made by literal children, and belittle it to hell and back.

If you're a creator and you think an entire genre of fanworks is shit, that's your prerogative. I think you're kinda an asshole for having that opinion, but you're allowed to have it. But when you put in time and effort into publicly hating on that genre of fan work, you move from the territory of a bit of an ass into actually a bad person.
