As I have begun to work on appearing more nonhuman and transitioning into my species it made me become more aware of how much society’s beauty standards are ingrained in us

I’ll notice that I am sometimes hesitant to wear something because I think it won’t look good on me. Or that I don’t have the right body type

Even as someone who has always hated how much people care about appearances it’s hard not to want to be pretty, that if I’m going to be perceived as human can’t I at least be a good looking one

But as I work to present more nonhuman I also work on letting go of human standards. That I am not trying to be attractive. I am not trying to be pretty. I want to look like a creature. I want to look like me.

I didn’t think it would this hard to unlearn but it’s nice to look how I want.

I don’t have to look pretty to look like me, and it’s ok to not be both

expressing nonhumanity is (or at the very least can be) a very alternative, counter culture move. normative society limits people's self-expression, and one of the many things it prohibits is being animalistic. normative society puts humans on a pedestal and does everything it can to separate them from nature. being alterhuman is fundamentally going against that system by blurring those very lines it constructed

now, for involuntary alterhumans, expressing oneself is often a need, not a want

but there really are just mfs out there who choose to be unapologetically feral, not because they feel it in their core, necessarily, but because they want to

they actively aid the broader alterhuman community in propagating nonhuman self-expression and help us challenge the system, not because it's their only option, but because they saw it as an option and thought it was interesting enough to dedicate themselves to it

I believe that everyone should start becoming self-sufficient and not relying on capitalism for gear and affirming items,

Throughout the years I have realized how much people rely on buying things in order to feel affirming to their type / animal side, it makes me upset considering I'm someone who makes my own gear and species affirming items,

I see way too many people buy tails that are unethical, I see people buy plastic items that come from manufacturing factories that pollute the air and the water, I see things that scream future landfill within this community and it makes me upset,

Even if you're not good at making gear you should at least learn, you shouldn't rely on capitalism and corrupted practices to get gear that is supposed to be closer to your animal identity,

This self-sufficient mindset also goes to growing your own food and learning to protect yourself when things get dangerous, the world is becoming darker and we need to learn to get stronger, we need to learn to be a community, and we need to learn to rely on ourselves and our community when the government and justice system can't save us,

Also read a book, eat that knowledge like it's a forbidden ancient secrets and you're a powerful wizard learning those forbidden ancient secrets.

This is also a reminder that you do not need to purchase craft supplies, I have two good suggestions for sources:

* Any associates, family, friends, classmates etc. A lot of people have stuff they do not use, and many (at least that I have met) are extremely excited to give it away for someone who will use it.

* The ground! Just look around when outside, both in nature and just on the street. Carry around some small bag to hold the things you find in. I do this a bunch, to make it feel more worth it I usually gather at least 5-10 small items before washing them each time.

For the latter one, if you are worried that the individual who dropped something wants it, wait it out! I have done this on several occasions with more "pretty", personal or lets be honest, non-"trash" things. Some times it gets picked up, if it doesn't- I yoink! Depending on what I wait between days and weeks.

A change I've already done is be more careful about who I support financially, I've never really bought clothes myself. But when I've learned more about the horrors of the big clothing companies I have gotten more dedicated to only consume second hand and as ethically as possibly. If there are any big 2nd hand stores chain near you, check them out, if not a lot of private persons put up their own small stalls on occasion. And person-driven second hand is almost always cheaper. (The things I have gotten have been between like 20 and 2 sek.)

I also just find thrifting specied euphoric, same for collecting stuff in thr ground. The hunt and to scavange is very werewolfy.

Later when I've moved out, I wish to at least grow some smaller vegetables in my apartment.

imo i think its poser activity to use radio collar IDs without actually getting one and communicating with those who build them..

bc its like the whole point is that its a culture that can build offline support systems for us nonhumans (with TherioNet) but no one but beasts care to make a functioning one. all the non-beasts using one see it and then dont question it further as something they could have. why? creations beget trends.

i promise you that it no longer has to be a trend, you can make support systems through these things, you can do so much more than yearn. the nonhuman community has lost it's creativity everyone is a poser now for some reason but you dont have to keep dreaming

Elaferi

from "el ferino" meaning "the ferine."

Elaferi is a culture that upholds the beliefs and practices of metamorphosis, nonhuman mythology, and ferine transition.

It is not an alterhuman term by default so that it includes anyone and all who believe in such practices, which are not exclusively spiritual or metaphorical. This culture is established to engage in conversation around specific forms of shapeshifting, specifically the literal, physical kind, without prefacing such experiences with "i swear it's not a delusion" or another term, as elaferi hopes to bridge all of them together. Elaferi culture is made to be straightforward and plain about what someone shapeshifts into and if they plan to fully become such.

Elaferi also does not equal animal or nonhuman but "lacking human characteristics", which can include humans.

If you wish to say "I am elaferi," you would say "I am a (your species)⚚✶(verbally: ferilan.)" An example, "I am a human⚚✶." This is to be straightforward about your species and your identity.

Ferilan believe this about shapeshifting:

it is mystic and meta/physical

its properties are made of aura/energy that is converted into physical sensations

can be gifted, cursed, or given by illness - or simply a ferilan is born with it

it's structure begins as psychosomatic that becomes literal, physical with practice and embodiment

embodiment is recommended to begin after aligning the 6 senses over time to confirm that permanent transition is what you want

Ferilan believe they have one or more auris that are sensed physically either as an veil or internally, that is expressed through practicing shapeshifting and through literal embodiment. When those bodies are conjoined or mutated into one, it is the result of embodiment.

Ferilan terminology:

energy is a balanced force that is physically sensed.

ferilan means "people, those of elaferi" in elaferian. it is verbally pronounced as ferilan but always visually shown as ⚚✶ at all times.

auris is an energy based body that is physically expressed.

embodiment is the act of using tech and practices that express the auris through material means permanently.

elaferian is the ferilana language.

dormancy is when the auris is not felt for some time, which can cause depressive symptoms.

feeding is the act of funnelling or transferring energy into the physical senses.

evaluations are systems used for self reflection, usually right after a shift.

Ferinra || The Pshifter Forum!

Ferinra was created out of my need for a non-algorithmic space that was akin to older nonhuman spaces. I've hated the way social media begets unhelpful discourse rather than insightful conversation, and ive realized that using forum boards ease that.

I wanted this to be for physical nonhumans, beasts, transspecies, misceverse lifestylers, and real supernaturals who engage in shifting of all kinds - this means pshifting, mshifting, reality shifting, or other forms of dimensional/body projection. that culture of nonhumans who take their spiritual self and make it a physical reality is being born here. at least, i want it to.

i think im going to portray myself more as a magickal beast; an irl magic user who's a beast. id like to feel more connected to my gender, my sex, my species by transitioning my spiritual shifting into my physical features. my transition looks like getting polydactyl body mods, getting chest reduction, colored tattoos, bottom surgery, and possibly something that clocks me as a mage/witch.

the mage aspect as a species comes from me being magicae and magikind, so my identity and what i look like yearns for a beast transition that reflects that. yet bodily wise, im unsure how to be read as a mage.

as in, if my witching tools were off and i was disrobed, what features would set me different than a human?

this leads me to juggle the truth of beasthood; that not everyone has to look physically nonhuman but accept a lifestyle that is physically othering, that is physically un-humanly. yet, no matter how much that affirms me, i still want to look physically nonhuman too.

my goal is to appear in my true form but in the end, we dont have the tech nor a way to get people to see into my body. so.. theres a possibility that i could go for body mods that showcase the features i have on my true form (eye cuts, swirls, purple coloring, white eyes). i just think that ill be too.. human for beasts who want a 100% nonhuman space.

ill walk in and be the only one who's not yipping. but maybe they'll be more beasts like me one day.
