star trek beyond quotes ā³ Commander Spock & Doctor McCoy
Saturn and Mars visit Milky Way Star Clouds : Planets, stars, nebulas and a galaxy this impressive image has them all. Closest to home are the two planets Mars , visible as the two bright orange spots in the upper half of the featured image. On the central right are the colorful Rho Ophiuchus star clouds featuring the bright orange star Antares lined up below Mars. These interstellar clouds contain both red emission nebulas and blue reflection nebulas. At the top right of the image is the Blue Horsehead reflection nebula. On the lower left are many dark absorption nebulas that extend from the central band of our Milky Way Galaxy. The featured deep composite was composed of multiple deep exposures taken last month from Brazil. Although you need a telescope to see the nebulosities, Saturn and Mars will remain visible to the unaided eye this month toward the east, just after sunset. via NASA

For Hunter
How could you NOT fall in love with the glow of the moon and stars, the warmth of the sun, the ancient life within the trees, and the sweet melodies of the winds?
āÆ
Jim had unceremoniously stormed from the bridge when Ms. Marcus had confronted him. Heads had turned at the hushed but fervent tones. He warned her to stop, but in the typicalĀ āEnterpriseā way, she had continued unwaveringly and he had had enough.Ā
He had stalked up to the observation deck, thankfully not meeting anyone on the way and now stood staring at the passing stars. His breathing became normal and he could no longer feel his pulse racing under his skin. He took a deep breath and realized she was right, he just was too stubborn to acknowledge it when being bombarded in a place where he should have been in control.
He noticed the footsteps behind him. He knew they were hers.
āNext time youāre right about something, try not to throw it in someoneās face. They might be a bit more apt to agree with you,ā he said, his tone missing joking as he intended and fell more toward biting.Ā āIām sorry. Iām just too stubborn for my own good, sometimes.ā He added finally sounding as sincere as he wanted, and turned to face her.Ā
What she had to say only meant to be a completely innocent interjection into the conversation he was having with an ensign about preparing a weapons transport from the cargo hull to the weapons bay. She didnāt expect the Captain to disagree with her so strongly, but she knew what the ensign suggesting wasnāt going to be as efficient, nor as safe, as it had appeared. Instead of backing down, she dig in her heels. There was no reason for him to be so stubborn about such a simple suggestion. Did he not trust her as a weapons specialist? Watching his Command Gold uniform from behind storm off was the only thing that could have halted her argument with him. She didnāt particularly raise her voice, but she did notice a few bridge crew members turn around to glance at the display at the Captainās chair.
Without a second thought, the blonde turned and followed him, and though she couldnāt directly see him with how quickly he stormed off, she had an idea where he would go to clear his head. There many late nights she came up from working late in the weapons bay to pass him simply gazing out of the observatory at the vast amount of space before him. She rarely made herself known when she saw him there, figuring he went there for alone time to himself. But this time she did. Pausing, she let him speak, his tone still sharp and it made her nearly wince.
āThat wasnāt my intentāā¦ā Before she could finish, he gave her an apology. One that felt honest and she accepted it. Honestly, she didnāt think he would so soon with how upset he seemed. Stepping, tepid at first, but more bodily until she was just within a foot of him, facing him now directly from where he had turned towards the observatory deck.
āSometimes, Captain Kirk?ā She raised her brow at him, a small smile spreading to a bigger one. An attempt to lighten the mood. āDespite its frustrating qualities, that stubbornness has proven itself useful to the crew many times, so itās not necessarily a negative all the time.ā Her hands clasped in front of her, errantly looking up back at the beauty of empty space in front of them, if only for a moment, then turned back more seriously.
āI wonāt apologize for being right, Captainā¦but I will for not taking a cue to not continue it on the bridge. I should have asked to speak to you privately.ā Deciding on whether or not she should continue, she bit her bottom lip, but forced herself not to look away.
āI was reacting to something a bit irrational myself, so Iām not blameless. I wasā¦ā She wanted to pick her words carefully. āā¦maybe a little hurt that you seemed to be listening to a new ensign and not to me when it comes to my specialty. That feeling overcame me and I suppose I had trouble letting it go. For that immaturity I am also sorry.ā
@jimt-kirk
Jimās eyebrows ticked upward slightly. He sighed knowing his actions were due to other stresses and he had been unfair.
āNo, no. Youāre right,ā he exhaled and rubbed the back of his neck.Ā āLook, I know itās not an excuse butā¦all this,ā he gestured to his uniform and the ship.Ā āIs sometimes a little less than manageable. I shouldnāt have stormed off like that, it was inappropriate and unprofessional. Iām sorry for making you feel that way, it really wasnāt my intention.āĀ
Jim looked back out to the stars before meeting her gaze again hoping theyād have an answer for him. If he wanted to be a captain, he was going to start having to act like one. Stress or not, it didnāt matter. The chair came first. And his crew was part of that. He couldnāt be freaking out at them every second he was in a precarious situation.
Good Luck / / Jimt-Kirk
Jenna was just about to go collapse into her bed when she remembered that the captain had asked her to join them that night. She changed out of her uniform and into civilian clothes, since she was off shift, and started out.
Except, she realized, he had never said where they were getting together. She decided it must be the wreck hall after some thought; she didnāt think heād have a get together in his quarters and she wasnāt aware of anywhere else on board they could have a get together.
Jim laughed with the group as Scotty made wild hand gestures to accompany his far-fetched story. As amusing as the story was, Jim kept finding himself glancing at the door, then the time, then the door again. Jenna was late and he hoped she hadnāt gotten lost. It was still only her first few days aboard and the Enterprise had a notorious reputation of being a labyrinth. Even he could get lost in the ship.
The stories continued and Jim found himself growing disappointed. Maybe she didnāt want to come, thatās why she wasnāt here yet. He pushed the thought from his head, not wanting it to be truth.
