And it was this very moment that Lan Wangji was ready to risk it all for Wei Wuxian. 😉
OK but can we TALK about how this comes right after LWJ’s home has been destroyed? His brother is on the run, status unknown, his people are dead or in hiding, so much of his home has been burned. He has to be feeling alone in a way he never has before, and then he hears his own sect’s laws out of the mouth of someone who never showed any respect for them when he was there, but who apparently still knows them by heart. And yes it’s a general “fuck you” to the Wens but it’s also specifically a “fuck you on behalf of Gusu Lan and what you did to them” and I think about what that must mean to LWJ in this moment and I have some FEELINGS.
And it’s not just a fuck you to the Wens, it’s Wei Wuxian protecting Lan Wangji. WWX knows Lan Wangji is too proud and too angry to bend far enough to perform the recitations the Wen clan wants, and so he makes himself the target of the Wen’s anger before it can hit Lan Wangji or any of the other students. This is Wei Wuxian stepping up to take the punishment for anyone else, AGAIN, and Lan Wangji has seen him do it before but this is probably the first time he really realizes that this is what Wei Wuxian always does. And he does it with a beautiful show of loyalty to Lan Wangji’s clan, and he does it by showing off his casual academic brilliance. Poor Lan Wangji never stood a chance.
@cactusspatz tagged this the moment when wwx learned to use his troll powers for great justice and that is true, she should say it. What I’d like mention loving about this is that at this point he has no idea what happened to the Gusu Lan sect (he finds out in the Xuanwu cave). LWJ is talking to nobody about nothing, but obviously WWX can see something is wrong given how LWJ arrived. And so I feel like him reciting the Lan rules is his way of all of the above (trolling, shielding) but also trying to break through to LWJ - you’re not alone! I’m here! I know you and what’s important to you! Talk to me. Let me help.
what's so interesting about the moon, anyway

idk who needs that but i made a thing that’s the first time i’m actually trying to do any kind of a drawing reference so it’s still not as good as i wish it could be but maybe it could be helpful for someone
a visual note on the difference between human and animal facial structures, showing how humans and animals faces really aren’t that different! this is meant a guide for people who’d like to start drawing furries but are used to drawing humans, or vise-versa.
the blocked on colors on the second version aren’t entirely representative of accurate anatomy, but they’re in the ballpark to show shapes work with faces!
people have asked me how i draw eyes so i made an extremely slap-dash eye tutorial! this is simply about how i draw a simple neutral eye, nothing to do with expressions (that’s a whole other thing).
start with the horizontal guide on the face, to help place the eyes. put circles where the eyes will go!
adjust the circles into diamond shapes– i got this idea from sinix design on youtube, it’s very helpful and easier to see where the lids should end than with a circle.
draw the top lid/lash lines, leaving a bit of space at the top of the diamond. keep each eye in time with each other– drawing one whole eye first makes it harder to match the other one.
then the bottom lids. i usually try to do all the lid shapes with a single curved stroke each. keep it simple pals!
irises & pupils. sometimes i’ll draw filled-in black circles for the irises, to help figure out where to place them naturally!
lid creases, use the leftover diamond at the top as a loose guide for where to place them. remember that the lid curves around the eyeball.
make adjustments! things don’t always come out perfect immediately. i usually have to thicken the lash line (i like mine quite thick), move the bottom lid up or down, and sometimes resize a whole eye (easier on computer than traditional, i know!). if you’re on a computer make sure to flip your canvas often so you can see these little things ❤
and to practice, just doodle a lot of small eyes! keeping them small makes them easier and faster to finish, so you can focus on your strokes and playing around with shapes, tilt, lid space, all that. don’t worry about making the irises perfect circles/ovals or any of that, just try to capture the character. have fun!

#3: After Brushing Face At the Apocalypse's Boss For 363 Days [Review]
I...
What just happened..................
So in this novel, we follow a player, Zhang Zhiyin, who gets transmigrated into the world of his favorite villain, the ultimate boss of the apocalypse Dr. Y, after suddenly being hit by a car. Now, how on earth is he going to survive, not just the apocalypse but potentially the wrath(?) of the villain he romanced and gave chocolates to every day??????????
My first impression of this novel was that it was a lot fluffier than I expected. I would be sitting there with a stupid grin on my face cause I couldn’t get over the antics of the main character. His hopeless love for the boss was hilarious, but what amplified that hilarity even more was how the boss himself decided to handle affairs relating to the main character. And the cats? Yeah. The cats.
Let me just tell you, they danced around each other like there was no tomorrow. It was truly a salsa of epic proportions; they were made for each other.
However, despite the fluffiness and our own eating of dog food looking at these idiots, I have never suspended my disbelief more. In fact my disbelief has not only been suspended, I had to completely throw it out the window in order to continue reading. Foreshadowing also does not exist. This novel has so many twists that it puts those 1960′s American dancers to shame. It felt like every time I turned a corner, there’d be another corner waiting for me, anticipating my turning that one, only to be faced with another corner.
My lord, I’m gone.
It wasn’t the most mind-boggling read and definitely didn’t capture my heart the way I thought it would, but it was still a cute read nonetheless. Honestly though, I can’t tell if the world building was done well, or if the characters had any character development (I... don’t think so..?..). There were moments where I struggled to read through, and I almost dropped the novel altogether (but dropping is against my character so I read on). Was it worth it? ..... I.... don’t know...
If you’re looking for some cliché fluff that may make you scream, not just over the fluff but also over just how cliché and wack it can get, then I’d definitely recommend this. The romance felt shallow despite how deep it was supposed to be, but for cavity-inducing boys and a few chuckles here and there, this may be the one for you. While the characters weren’t necessarily the most well thought out, you do end up caring for them and each of their personalities, even the side characters. (Is it bad that I lowkey like the side characters more?). Also, if you enjoy reading novels that you truly cannot predict, then please give this novel a go. I mean this in both a good and bad way. You won’t be able to predict anything.
At this point my soul has left my body and what is left is an empty shell of disbelief.
I need chocolates to comfort me -- is any villain-loving gamer willing to provide?
