how does someone write people flirting??
not like super upfront flirting, like a we barely know eachother but I might shoot my shoot while we get to know eachother?
(and I used to think I knew how to flirt, what a shame)
okay so most people think they know how to flirt but the truth is, everyone flits in different ways cause we've all got different love languages. The flirting that matches your love language is gonna be way more effective on you then a type of flirting that isnt.
For like 'I may be interested in you, I might want to take this further somewhere in the future but not rn I wanna get to know you better first' kinda flirting
it really is mostly just, getting to know eachother better. Asking questions. Trying to know what they like, trying to talk to them more or spend more time with them. Little gestures to maybe prove that you remember the things they've told you like bringing them their favorite snack or coffee, and complimenting them more.
Early on, just treading the line flirting is a little bit of all the love languages. Because you're testing out what that person responds to more. If you notice they tend to have a better response to words of affirmation, you'd start complimenting them more or verbally supporting and cheering them on more. If you notice they're not really liking the compliments but they're responding well to you bringing them simple things like a cup of coffee or tea or some little thing that reminded you of them, their love language is likely gifts and you start expressing that more.
Early flirting is very easy in that way. You're really just trying to get to know the person more, trying to gain a better understanding of what they like, and providing that. And that's really just how you write it. You show the effort the character is putting in to get to know the other character, and to please them.
