pug life.
Robert Sapolsky about his study of the Keekorok baboon troop from National Geographic’s Stress: Portrait of a Killer.
Thiiiiiiis, people, thiiiis!
1. Kill alpha male types 2. Achieve world peace
Got it.
I’ve actually read a lot of Sapolsky’s work. He’s one of my favorite scientists in the neuro/socio world.
I just watched the documentary and there is so much more about the troop that isn’t in this photoset—not only does the troop have a culture of little aggression and greater cooperation, but any incoming jerk baboons learned within a few months that their shitty behaviour was in no way acceptable, that the troop only rewarded sociability, and they changed accordingly.

So you're saying kids who get bullied should poison their sandwiches?
Woody is at it again.

DYING RIGHT NOW
that shaky thing your voice does when you’re confronting someone or speaking up for yourself is the worst damn thing it’s like you have no intentions of crying but your nervousness overcomes your vocal cords and you end up looking like such a weak shit
"I just really care for him so much, and I just want to protect him. Deep down he’s a good guy, even though he’s a drug dealer and a murderer and a meth addict… I want to care for him, you know?" - Aaron Paul on Jesse Pinkman
don’t we all?
OH MY GOD THIS MOVIE
