Notes
After taking out Mewtwo in Pokémon Stadium with Rentals, I thought I’d take on the Rival, the Final Final Battle of Pokémon Stadium 2, using only Rentals in a fair 3 on 3 match.
In some ways doing a Rental only run of Stadium 2 is easier than of Stadium, thanks to Counter, Mirror Coat, Pain Split, Perish Song, and Destiny Bond, which help even the playing field for the Rentals (in other ways it’s harder, with stuff like Focus Band working three times in a row).
That said, those moves don’t make taking on the Rival 3 on 3 easy. If anyone on his team scores a critical hit, they can easily take out your Rental in one hit, giving you no chance to Counter or Mirror Coat and ruining your chances. This was a close match.

The ultimate Pokémon, MEWTWO, lies in wait. Can your Pokémon defeat this fearsome Pokémon?

RBY Mewtwo is the single most powerful Pokemon in any generation. Nothing even comes close to the raw destructive power of this thing.

Personal Notes:
So apparently there’s this craze called Pokémon Go going around, which I have zero interest in getting into. Call me a snob, but the game-play sounds a bit too shallow compared to the standard Pokémon games to interest me, which is actually a good thing, because I really cannot afford to get distracted by Pokémon obsession again. Still, the mention of Pokémon did set something of a nostalgia rush, so to placate it I dug up Pokémon Stadium again for a quick match against the Final Final Boss, RBY Amnesia Mewtwo.
Amnesia Mewtwo, the Classic God of Pokémon, is the single most terrifying Pokémon ever in any Generation. One Amnesia boosts its Special to 812, and should it get a second one off it will Max out its Special at 999. Afterward, Mewtwo is set to sweep with STAB Psychic tearing through anything that does not resist it, knocking out almost every Pokémon in one hit.
The special quirks of First Generation also added to Mewtwo’s unmatched power. In First Generation, Special was one stat instead of split into Special Attack and Special Defense, meaning that not only was Mewtwo’s offensive power horribly lethal, it was also practically untouchable by Special moves. First Generation also had unbalanced typing to further add to Mewtwo’s danger. There were no Steel types to resist psychic or Dark types to be immune to it. Due to programming errors Ghost types did not affect Psychic instead of being super effective, and there were no strong damaging Ghost or Bug type moves at the time anyways.
Mewtwo’s vulnerability is his physical Defense, his lowest stat, but it is hardly a weakness, being “only” above average instead of top tier. But even Self-Destruct Snorlax can’t take out Mewtwo in one hit, leaving an opening for Mewtwo to Rest and wipe away all the hard earned damage.
No Pokémon is invincible, but RBY Amnesia Mewtwo came very close.
