I’m taking an art history class over the summer for an early college thing and we talked about Romanticism today. I had to fight the urge to talk about Reese Kelly scarlet hollow and how he practices Romanticism similar to Goya.

here’s a side by side of a Kelly and a Goya to prove my point:

Romanticism is very based around emotion and intuition, in contrast to the neoclassical art that was common in the napoleonic times. I think that makes sense for his character, his art is how he expresses his emotions, thus his art resembles the artistic movement that was focused on that.
