10 Gal Tank Update!
Since converting my 28 Gallon system to a 10 Gallon system my tank has shown improvements oddly enough. I have kept the water changes to 10%, using the same salt, feeding the fish the same and use the same lights. Oddly enough the corals are doing better.
I wouldn't expect this since im moving to a smaller tank and the water chemistry is theoretically harder to deal with. I still have the same DIY auto top off system replenishing the water as it evaporates.
The improvements I have seen are as follows:
1) Green Star Polyps spreading and attaching to the rock. They did not do this on the other tank.
2) The Green Psammacora is growing back and coloring up better in a weeks time.
3) The Acropora Valida was almost dead and I had almost given up on it. Now the Polyps are out farther than they were ever before.
Next im waiting to see if anything starts encrusting and growing.
Less is better in this case.
Coral close up!

Tearing down the tank
Tomorrow, I am tearing down my reef tank and moving it to a more mobile 10 gal aquarium until I move. I will post a picture thread of it tomorrow to see what is involved.

Clown hosting a Carpet Anemone
New Coral ID webpage created by the Australian Gov.
The Australian government has created a great resource for identifying corals with over 800 species in the data base. On top of that they give you information about the coral such as the type of lighting and flow they come from in the wild so that you can mimic that in your tank. This information also allows you to buy corals that are from the same area so that you are not letting one thrive while killing another one.
This guy is getting hungry. I know this because they usually never come out during the day and I only see them at night. This is a sign that my tank is getting closer to a nutrient poor water column which means good things for the SPS corals.
My Clown fish corrals the chromis' like a sheep dog.
Green Star Polyps lovin the LED light!
