Asher chuckled under his breath as he continued to eat his breakfast. “It is good, J’khaal. I think I could get used to you cooking breakfast everyday.” He smirked as he nudged her leg under the table.
She gives a small snort and kicks his shin lightly, "Ha! If you think I'm going to become some sort of domestic goddess now you're gonna be sorely disappointed."

Asher chuckled at J’khaal. “What did you do to work up such an appetite?” The Altmer asked.
"Your 'hunting trip' almost killed me." She replies, amused, "Now eat, before the food goes cold. I didn't slave away to see my work wasted, Ageamala."

Liara giggled as she made her way downstairs with Cey holding on tightly. “Hi daddy!” She squeaked as she walked into the kitchen, setting Cey down gently.
"Well hello." Asher chuckled. "Come sit at the table. J’Khaal made us breakfast this morning."
The two of them needed no more incentive than food to sit down at the table.
"J’Khaal, are you coming?" Asher called out.
She smiles softly as the two disappear down the stairs, Liara's little voice muffled by the walls. The redguard pauses in her descent, revelling in the silence that gives her time to wonder. She wonders what her mother would think of this all. Being part of a family again, or at least being welcomed into one, is so strange a feeling. She thinks it should feel more like she's betraying Ma, but it doesn't feel like that at all. She feels happy. Happier than she's been in a long time.
With a bright smile upon her face, she breezes into the kitchen and takes a seat at the table, opposite the two young mer. Immediately, the young woman begins to devour the meal spread out before her, dipping the tough bread into the egg yolks and sighing when she forces down the large mouthful, "I feel like I haven't eaten in years."

"Coming!" Liara yelled as she emerged from her room, carrying Cey on her back who was laughing and enjoying the ride.
Were her nerves not hardened to steel she would have jumped at the sudden yell and movement. Instead, she laughs; hand raising to muffle the sounds.
"Be careful on the stairs here, kiddo. Wouldn't want you to slip downstairs into the kitchen on your behind, as spectacular an entrance that would be."

Asher proceeded to set the table for everyone to eat breakfast. He then went into the cooling cabinet and got milk for the children, knowing that J’khaal would stick with wine.
Dark eyes survey the corridor, trying to figure out which room is the children's. She really should know things like this by now, but she never really has been one to pay attention to her surroundings.
She rests a hand upon the bannister and leans forward a little so her voice carries down the hallway, "Liara? Cey? Breakfast is ready if you guys want some."

"That would be lovely." Asher grinned, still hung up on the sweet kiss that she gave him.
The redguard barely manages to hide her smile at how clearly the kiss affected him, squeezing past to go upstairs. "Set out the plates on the table for me, will you?"

Asher grabbed a plate and handed it to her. “That is for you…and this is for me.” He chuckled before kissing her lips.
She accepts the plate graciously, dumping the scrambled remains of egg onto it before wiping her hands on her shirt. J'Khaal smiles, deepening the kiss with a grin before pulling away and dishing out the meal onto four plates. She's made a little more than necessary, but whatever is left uneaten can always go to Shadowmere.
"Want me to go get the kids?"

"You’re gonna clean up right?" Asher asked, a slight edge in his voice as he saw the mess the was making.
"Shit. Shit fuck. Ah-- yeah, hold on a minute." With surprisingly delicate, tentative movements for one with such a brash, obnoxious personality, she scrapes the egg whites from the pan, leaving as much of the burnt parts as she can.
"Pass me a plate, will you?"

Asher’s raises his brow as he watches the spectacle of J’khaal cooking and trying to drink wine at the same time. “Do you need…help?” He asked as he tilted his head. “One grunt for yes, two grunts for no.”
With a clink of teeth on glass and a triumphant cry, she shakes her head and smiles at the bottle she's managed to leave on the table, "'M all good. What kind of dovahkiin would I be if I couldn't multitask, right?"
In the brief moment of time it's taken for her to announce this useless information, the eggs have started to burn. She hisses out some unintelligible Khajiiti-Dovahzul mixture of a curse and quickly tips the pan upside down, dumping the egg yolks right onto the counter and leaving the whites stuck to the pan's surface.

"Do you just like me for my kitchen?" Asher chuckled as she sat down and watch J’khaal cook herself some food.
"'Oo 'gaught 'ee," She flashes him another grin, hands too preoccupied with cooking to take the wine bottle from her mouth. The elf swigs down a little more, careful not to splash any in the pan as she lowers it onto the counter with her teeth.

"Eggs or porridge." Asher replied as he took a cup from the shelf. "At least pour me a glass if you are going to drink the whole thing." He snickered. "Sometimes we will throw in sweet rolls or sausage if the hunt was well."
"Sweetrolls for breakfast? You spoil them, Ash," She teases, grinning around the bottle.
J'Khaal gets a steady flame going, finding what appears to be a pan of some sort and a dozen eggs in a cupboard. Soon she's got a decent enough looking meal cooking; a few eggs, slightly tough bread and smoked venison. It looks more than it is, but she isn't complaining. She's actually rather proud of herself for retaining some of the culinary lessons her Ma gave her as a child.

"You know she is warming up to you." Asher said as he watched J’khaal rummage through his cabinets. "Cey will eventually come around as well."
"I hope so," She smiles, snatching a loaf of bread and an assortment of other various foodstuffs she deems appropriate from a shelf, before making an all-too-familiar beeline for the wine cabinet. Having little expertise in the field of wine tasting she simply grabs the first bottle she sees and pulls out the cork with her teeth.
"What do the kids usually have for breakfast, anyway?"

"Yes! I am hungry. Daddy can we eat?" she asked looking up at her father.
"I guess we can." He said ran his hands through her curls. "Go get your brother."
She ran off to her and Cey’s bedroom to wake him up.
"Cute kid," She remarks, grinning as she begins to rummage through the cabinets. J'Khaal offers no more than this, feeling slightly more relaxed now the girl is gone-- if only for the moment.
She's terrified that a single wrong word; wrong movement could do something irreparable. Children, in her eyes, are so fragile, and Khaalariel isn't a particularly graceful creature.

Asher lowered his eyes. “I guess we are just lucky with our hearing, don’t take it personally, my dear. You have plenty of skills that are better than mine.” he walked over to her and kissed her cheek.
"Like consuming the souls of the mighty dov," She says this with a malicious grin, lowering her voice so it sounds only a mumble to Liara's heightened hearing.
She laughs at her own joke, harsh voice crackling, jumping from the counter and stretching her arms. J'Khaal arches a brow, smiling at the little elf, "You want some breakfast, honey? Your Pa thinks it's acceptable to be awake this early, but I am starving."

"It is not your fault." he smiled. "Liara is just a light sleeper." he added as Liara nodded her head in agreement.
"Those little elven ears of hers must have something to do with it," She smiles at Liara.
J'Khaal leans back, resting her shoulder blades on the wall, "It's a shame mine are part human-- I can't hear as much as you do."

Asher was waiting in the kitchen when Liara led J’khaal in. “Daddy!” she said as she ran over to him and jumped in his arms.
"You should be asleep, little wing, but it is nice to see you." he said as she hugged her and kissed her little nose. "I see you have met J’khaal." he chuckled as he looked between the both of them.
"Yes, she is nice." Liara grinned.
The redguard hops up onto the kitchen counter and crosses her legs, planting her hands on the surface for support as she watches the father and his child. When she meets his eyes she grins apologetically, but the laughter in her eyes shows just how genuinely guilty she is for having woke the small elf up.
"Sorry, Ash. I tried to be quiet, but I'm a bit of a clutz sometimes."

"Erissa showed us some animals and don’t tell daddy, but she let me hold her dagger as she cooked a rabbit for us to eat."
She nods solemnly and lowers her voice to a whisper, managing to stifle the smile that plays across her lips for a moment, "I won't tell a soul. Your secret is safe with me."
