LITTLE GIRLS TEACHING DOG TO JUMP ON MATTRESS. [video]
Oh my goddddd
this is too cute
Omg this is golden
I want to see them do an episode of The Price is Right with ultra rich people I want to see Mitt Romney try to tell me what he thinks the price of dish soap is
When we donât have any food in the house and canât decide on a place to order from
Me on the phone with that relative who just wonât stop talking
When my boss asks me to âtake the leadâ on something
Showing up to a friendâs apartment empty handed
When my roommate invites people over who I donât know
This is awesome!Â
On her childhood:
âI counted everything. I counted the steps to the road, the steps up to church, the number of dishes and silverware I washed ⊠anything that could be counted, I did.â
On her NASA calculations:
âEarly on, when they said they wanted the capsule to come down at a certain place, they were trying to compute when it should start. I said, âLet me do it. You tell me when you want it and where you want it to land, and Iâll do it backwards and tell you when to take off.â That was my forte.â
Katherine really stood out in her field because she was the only woman who asked questions.
âThe women did what they were told to do,â she explained. âThey didnât ask questions or take the task any further. I asked questions; I wanted to know why.â
In 2011, when asked if she still counts things:
âOh, yes. And things have to be parallel. I see a picture right now thatâs not parallel, so Iâm going to go straighten it. Things must be in order.â

5 Stages of Suhoor
the way we treat the hijab can be so toxic
we donât let sisterâs who wear it make mistakes. We put the idealized view of a âhijabiâ on a pedestal. Islam is treated like a brand that sisters who wear the hijab are ambassadors of. Itâs not âmuslims shouldnât be doing this because it displeases Allahâ instead its âHijabis shouldnât be seen doing this because it misrepresents islam, it makes us look badâ. You wear a hijab and suddenly you canât make mistakes because everyone is watching you and expecting you to be the kind of muslim that the world should see. itâs unfair. We canât live our whole lives perfectly. And i know so many sisters whoâve ditched their hijab because they want to work their way up without those expectations. Because they want to be able to work on their faith without being under a magnifying glass.
Then you have sisters who donât wear it that donât feel like theyâre even allowed to be religious without being questioned. because apparently if they truly believed theyâd have the hijab on. because apparently thatâs the first thing we have to do before weâre taken seriously. As if wearing it comes easily and the very valid apprehension we can have in general due to how islamaphobic our environments might be doesnât count. As if our own personal situations are public knowledge and as if there arenât sisters with specific homelives or other serious obstacles that make wearing the hijab more difficult of a challenge than it is for others. No girls who donât wear hijab apparently all just want attention, want to look pretty for the world and put their vanity before their faith. So if they begin to practice in other ways theyâre fake or theyâre denying hijab is fardh.
WHEN DID WE START VALUING THE HIJAB BEFORE THE HUMAN BEING.
You know you're a Muslim when FB suggests this
