My art is influenced a lot by the mid 20th century. I like retrofuturism.

tbh i think people do a lot of heavy lifting with terminology like "small indie studio" cuz the lucky few creators of popular indie animation get rich off of their lightning in a bottle self-owned cartoons but roger sweet (creator of masters of the universe) passed away this april after starting a gofundme for his medical bills since he didn't own the rights. And then a movie came out a few months later

On that note I made a design for fun of kind of a superman au.... red son unfortunately is really bad and terrible. plot in that has kal-el's baby capsule land in ukraine in the 1930s so I made a new one. more background under the cut idk

(the book erreneously says ukraine is a part of russia. honest to god dont know how that made it past editorial but i have an inside joke with my bf that it's putin's favorite superman book. mark millar should be in jail for that fr)

Anyway. I thought it had some potential because I love the idea of it. Kind of doing an AU where he actually has a human name and a super costume made by his adoptive mother like in non-elseworlds. And he's not evil this time. I named him Nikolai "Kolya" Kostenko to keep the comic book alliteration flavor of clark kent. I designed his suit to resemble a vyshyvanka with the geometric sun in reference to where he gets his power. usually embroidery is much more intricate but i try to keep comic designs on the graphic side. Yeah

i think the cleanest way to summarize my politics is i'm blocked by like half of tumblr leftists because i said the war in ukraine is bad. & i'm Also on blocklists on bsky falsely claiming i'm pro-russian military. because i mentioned i know russians who emigrated because they're against the war, ukrainians who speak russian, or people from multicultural families (???)

Correction to the link sourced by OP! The Artemis II team did not take these photographs. These were shot by a Ukrainian student named Ildar Ibatullin sometime in the last year or so. Furthermore, the Moon does not have these actual colors in reality; Ildar does a lot of post processing and compositing to saturate the colors in order to artistically represent the mineral composition of the lunar surface.
