I think a lot about the smiley question, about the gap between raw reality (death) and the abstract, virtual world. Through this work "Black smiley", I reveal a real face, skull, obstructed by the abstracting of an emotion, an ambivalent smiley, and covered by paint and varnish, pleasant material and reminiscent of a universe of carnal pleasure but also dynamics of submission and domination. The discomfort is then created by the confrontation between an abstract world and a real world. In the artwork "Hostia I" I recycle the symbolism of nails and the sacrificed sheep, transforming it into a kind of martyr pop, this vision is as much more disturbing as it is aesthetic, reminding an unbridled religious imaginary.
