listen i understand we all wanted maxwell to stay with torse i wanted it too but imagining the intense yearning the two would undergo when being separated is too good to dismiss.

torse is doing all these big things in restoring zern. hes reconnecting with his community. he feels hope again….but he cant help but think itd be all the better if maxwell were there. max loves the crew but he misses his torse so much because everything just seems to make sense when he’s there.

i want then to send each other extremely charged letters that seem normal and fine to them but to anyone who gets a glance and reads em its like so homoerotic and sappy its downright ridiculous. even van is scandalized and you know shes done just about everything there is to be done.

i think we have to wonder how the hell maxwell isnt like. less normal. like hes certainly not well adjusted like dont mistake me that man is like all ways messed up but like you have to look at his family and wonder how he turned out relatively okay. like yeah he had cadswitch but i think longspot and hatwell being my immediate family for thirty years might have driven me insane at age five.

I had a lot of fun writing this and I hope you enjoy !! Many hcs abt the Gotch family and just so much Torsewell self indulgence I wanted them to be sappy and in love because they’re so incredibly real to me and have never been realer. Also their friendships with Marya and Van are so fun and they’re a fucked up found family and love each other sooooo much also lots of Wealwell because. I couldn’t help it he’s funny.

torsewell nation i dont even know where to begin my stomach really hurts.

torse believed he was the last of his kind the sole survivor of his tribe carrying their legacy with him suffering through loneliness and a dwindling hope. maxwell is the seventh of a set his keys belonged to his beloved grandfather who fostered whimsy in him when he belonged to a family who destroyed it. the keys have a bell meant to be rung by him in some form of cosmic responsibility and in seeing torses homeland zern in that mirror he rings it so that any survivor knows there is hope for their land yet and torse watches as light is brought back along with floods of his people. maxwell takes torses cherished scraps of his golden heart and turns it into a weapon all while making torse laugh for the first time. torse thinks maxwell is fun. what more can i even say here.

“My whole life has been worse because you haven’t been in it.” is such a beautiful way to describe torse and maxwell’s relationship cuz…yeaaaa

like they’re just really good for each other.

when torse sees maxwell again he is the happiest we have ever seen him just so elated and happy to see him again. torse’s soft “my friend” is so full of fondness it kills me. like his last memories were of betraying his friends and falling to his presumed death with maxwell flying to him. his last thoughts were of maxwell and his friendship. he wakes up ashamed of himself for what he did, probably scared that he’s going to lose all of it like he was always scared he would because of his iron heart. but then that doesn’t happen. instead maxwell is just as happy to see him back and expresses it with such genuine joy torse is immediately soothed after being incredibly grumpy upon waking up. torse spends one moment surrounded by absolutely silly people and its like hes gotch withdrawal. and then maxwell is on the defense because he doesnt understand if hes being made fun of and everything feels like an attack to him but its ok because torse is back and not only is torse validating the lack of need for nicknames but he is also threatening to maim anyone who inconveniences or upsets maxwell and maxwell has someone who understands him again

and they gay forehead touch about it hands clasped together

finally got around to watching ep 16 and see the preview of tomorrows ep and another thing i love abt torsewell is how they adore to portray themselves as the pinnacle of being collected and calm opposite of frivolous but whenever anything has to do with the other they get really intense and weird about it.

like maxwell goes one episode without torse and hes violently flipping off and yelling expletives at monty and comfrey stressed out of his mind and the preview has torse swearing to maim, mutilate, and mangle anyone who crosses maxwell they are so not normal about each other and that is so beautiful to me

i love looking back at the smaller torsewell moments before the feast we were fed recently.

like how torse thought maxwell was cadswitch at first and i chose this specific moment to talk about because i like to think that to maxwell something that small was incredibly important to him. i cant put it into any fancy prose but i just think that maxwell gotch who has almost equal pride and disdain for his family and family name anything that relates to it has a pretty big impact on him.

so when torse recognizes him as the only good parental figure he had i can only imagine the way it made maxwell feel. looking at the family portrait and feeling no matter how much of a rowdy he is, he is still his fathers son and that rot was passed down to him. but the thing is that maxwell has cadswitch’s shine in his eye and its so bright that torse looks at him and on first sight sees his grandfather and it helps maxwell believe maybe theres hope for him yet.

anyone else rank naddpod arcs on a tier list or am i the only freak here who does. i love all of naddpod its just that i also have favorite kids i am a bad parent. like sooorryyy galaderon saga solos idk what to tell u…like ur gnna tell me galaderon wasnt peak storytelling? youre a liar and youre lying to me.

my personal headcanon for torsewell is that initinally torse respects maxwell (complimenting his fighting prowess and looks) but he doesnt think much more until at some point he goes to thank marya for giving him his heart back and while marya is appreciative of the gratitude she is also incredibly proud of maxwells first whimsy so she goes “oh yes of course torse! but you should know it was actually maxwells idea! if not for his initiative i might not have done it”

and so now torse has the knowledge that maxwell despite not directly doing so was the main contributor in giving him his heart back and he had kept trying to find a time to thank maxwell too but zoodian whimsy kept getting in the way and due to keeping an eye on maxwell, torse started to notice more and more how alike they were and that builds up to the “not frivolous” convo (unfortunately for torse ghost dog was farting in the background because a “good time” for serious talk doesnt exist on the zephyr sorry that frivolous dog is dying from too much gas)

has anyone written a torsewell fic yet where torse keeps feeling that his clockwork is ticking faster or stalling for a second or just overheating so he goes to marya thinking that hes malfunctioning and hoping she can fix it. and she earnestly checks him over until he reveals these malfunctions only ever happen when hes with maxwell. then shes like “hmmm you know torse i once had a girlfriend too”

and then somewhere else on the zephyr maxwell asks van what its like to be in love and van is more than happy to talk about it gushing over what it feels like and at some point maxwell even chimes in and van realizes that the reason he asked is because hes got his eye on someone…and she asks who and he wont admit it so van has to wrestle it out of him because they cant be normal
