Things happen you know... like... normally on Saturdays... joe is at a friends, I go to work, home for a bit, we head to church, home by 9:15/9:30pm.. bed, husband comes home chat and it’s a late night... It’s an every Saturday thing... clock work! I woke up today not feeling well, headed to the Doc in the box and have a double sinus infection.. drive to fill prescriptions.. waited, finally went home, joe at a friends house, and husband and I noticed that our dog Miles was not well... we coddled him and loved on him. I called out of work and church... (never happens) Husband goes to work, I nap, watch tv, rest, chill, just as doctor ordered. Joe at friends and they took him to church. So during this time alone, I’m loving on my dog and around dinner I notice... this is not good. Called my sister who come right over and we took the dog to he vet... 15 years of Miles Davis Williams and he is now with Jesus. I held him the whole time and he never once tried to leave my arms. He was a sick pooch. He was our first little boy. I always called him ‘Happy’ because he would always smile at me when I saw him. I’m laying here thinking of how we rescued him, how fun he was with his toys, how he loved to chase the deer and squirrels. How he tolerated Joey. He was a good little dog for us. I came home from the vet and saw that his water bowl was empty, so I immediately filled it with water not thinking that he wasn’t with us... urgh.... I’m sad. But... if I had a regular Saturday... I never would have had the day with Miles and this whole day would have played out very different. I’m thankful I’m sick, I’m thankful for my husband who encouraged me to call out, I’m thankful for our friends who kept Joey for he day, I’m thankful for Sissy who sat next to me as I unraveled into a mess of tears...and.. I’m thankful to God who keenly orchestrated this day where I could give Miles the love and comfort that he needed before it was time to say goodbye. It’s never easy. We are all a mess. But he was a good little guy. Gonna miss him! #milesdaviswilliams #gooddog #smoosh #happy #fullwaterbowl
