Happy birthday to Super Junior’s Kangin!

Kangin 강인 was born Kim Youngwoon 김영운 on Thursday, January 17, 1985, in Seoul.

He was born in the Chinese Year of the Rat.  He and Sungmin are both Capricorns.  Kangin is 178 cm or 5'10" tall, the same height as Yesung and Shindong.  Kangin, Shindong, Eunhyuk, and Ryeowook’s blood type is O.

During a field trip with friends, Kangin was spotted by a SM Entertainment representative, who encouraged him to sign up for SM’s talent competitions.  He then won Best Outward Appearance at the fourth annual SM Youth Best Contest.  He debuted as a panelist on SBS’s variety show “One Night’s TV Entertainment” in 2004.  He’s a member of the sub-units Super Junior-T and Super Junior-Happy.  He was a regular on the MBC variety show “Image Survival” until February of 2006.

He plays the piano, guitar, and bass guitar.  His hobbies are kickboxing, swimming, and playing basketball.

On July 5, 2010, Kangin enlisted in the military.  He was the first member of Super Junior to enlist.  He went to the Nonsan military camp in Chungcheongnam-do for five weeks of basic training followed by 20 months of active duty service.  He completed his service and was discharged on April 16, 2012.

In light of the way Kim Jonghyun decided to say goodbye to his fans and to the world, I think it’s time we tell our two boys just how good they’ve done so far and forgive the not so perfect parts, welcome them back and watch them smile, be happy and grow old in front of us. These men make my day brighter, help me lift my load and continue my way; I miss them and wait for them with open arms.

[VOTE] March Madness 2017 — Best Boy Band [Final Round]

March Madness 2017 is a month-long competition on PopCrush to determine the best of the best of South Korean boy bands and girl groups.

To say that K-pop fans are dedicated would be an understatement of the century: the semi-final round of PopCrush’s search to determine the best of the Korean boy bands and girl groups has officially ended after 20 million votes (!), and we’re down to the final round for each bracket. For the guys? It’s SUPER JUNIOR, who moves on after a neck-and-neck battle against BTS, moving through to the final round with 50.93% of the vote. And in the other corner, it’s TVXQ, who narrowly bested EXO, moving on with 51.24% of the vote.

And now, it’s time for both troupes to give it all they’ve got in the final round.

SUPER JUNIOR, which first debuted well over a decade ago, recently revealed that they’re working on a new album, and are planning to make a major comeback at the end of 2017. Their last effort, Devil, was released in 2015 — so it’s more than time for their return.

CALLING OUT WORLDWIDE ELF

   Hi, ELF! So let’s go to the point…

   Even through we don’t know what’s behind the whole situation and Kangin’s personal life, we all know that what he did was wrong, irresponsible and could had caused worse consequences. We won’t take care of him like he was a victim or a baby.   Some of you probably already read some comments saying mean stuff about him and asking to Kangin leave Super Junior.    We, ELF + SJ, are a family. And, as ELF, we should show to our beloved Kim Youngwoon some love, right? ^^   On May 27 from 7AM til 9AM (KST) we will use on Twitter the tags #StayStrongKangin #ELFWithKangin.
