The only believable option here is that you all just turn into robots. That’s the only explanation I have for all of this. How could you remember such a blurb of weeks that I’m sure all melt together into one giant blob in your memory. At least you have breaks - and breaks for naps is even better. I can see the whole naps being impossible thing. You guys look like a rowdy group that likes to have fun. You snack rebel. How can they expect you to function without snacks? Snacks are important when you’re run ragged doing press. Ah, that’s so damn smart cause honestly, who the hell is going to look at or in your pockets? You could pack as many snacks in there as you want and get away with it. Still think you guys are extraordinary human beings. A few weeks is still a long time to constantly be on the go, doing this event or that one. That’s a long time to barely ever rest or have any time for anything but shedding spotlight on your character and their role in the movie. Haha I can imagine! The first movie was….huge. Not that they all aren’t, they are, but the first Avenger’s movie was launching a franchise that turned into a giant all in itself. The attention it gained was enormous. I can’t imagine that any of you knew what day it was even. We might, yeah! SDCC is always the big one - and the events/parties for that one are stacked into four very long days. I forget my own name when SDCC comes around and I normally need about two weeks to recover from it. On average? I do about….six to eight cons a year, depending on what I’m feeling. Some of my co-workers or friends do a whole lot more. Seeing that many people can be very overwhelming. Not to sound cheesy by all means, but when each person that comes through is just so genuinely excited to see you and talk with you, the sea of people sorta fades away. I drink lots of coffee - LOTS of coffee. Keeps the darkness away. Ninety sounds about right. I might bump up mine to ninety-five personally but that’s just me. Pleasure is all mine, I assure you. She’s five! Can’t lie, I had to do everything I could not to die laughing….while also apologizing because it started to smell. How old is your kiddo? What was your answer? Oh, were you surrounded by a bunch of other parents? Cause that’s when the judgement goes from a normal two to about a twenty on the judgement scale. You’ll look back on this day when your daughter has one of her own and laugh when she meets her own karma. I look forward to it, honestly.
Robots is a good answer, too. I’m sure it would all be easier to remember if the boys didn’t insist on making every occasion one that included shots — when we did press for the first Avengers, I got too hammered when in Russia and do not remember a single thing that happened the entire trip. I don’t even remember being there. Yes, very hard to take naps when we’re all running around like a bunch of children who haven’t seen each other in years, but I’ve found that pretending I’m going off to call my baby at home is a good excuse. They buy it, and I get a few uninterrupted Z’s. We are very much rowdy, that’s a good word to describe us. Rowdy, slightly destructive, but all full of love. We break bones in the name of bear hugs. I don’t know, I guess they too think that we’re robots. I have to keep the snacks minimal because otherwise they’ll catch on and yell at me, but during Ultron I think I managed a small Ziploc of popcorn? It was true stealth mode, the only spy skill I’ve taken from my character. It is a long time, no doubt, but in the moment it’s hard to dwell on the utter exhaustion. We love each other a lot and it’s so much fun going out and promoting the movies, hanging out together again, all that jazz. It only gets brutal somewhere around the last week when we’re all jet-lagged out of our minds. It was something, that’s for sure! Still a little surprised that this is the reality of it, how big it’s gotten since that first Avengers movie. Never got used to it, never will. You are correct in assuming none of us knew what day it was. Just felt like one long sleepless kinda day. Sounds about like me, after I went to Comic Con for Winter Soldier my ass was out. I was benched on the couch for a week after trying to recharge. Six to eight cons? Jesus fuck, you are a trooper. The magnitude of people and then the constant interview-panel stuff, that’s intense. See, that to me is like the brightest spot of the panels and what I’d primarily want to do; talk to the fans, get to meet them one on one and stuff. Every time I’ve been to SDCC it’s just been for the Hall H panels and then they throw me right back on the plane after. I did do some extra press the year we were there for Winter Soldier but never actually got to the fun stuff? I hear that’s where it’s at. Not the panels, but the signings and the photo ops and getting to actually interact with the fans. And I’m never able to work my schedule around the other cons some of the guys go to where they do get to have signings and ops, so obviously that lessens the fun. Ooh, what’s your particular poison when it comes to coffee? My Keurig has become my best friend over the years, I would be lost without it. It’s mine, really, but if you say so! Oh, god, I feel your pain. Mine will be five in August. I first told her to drop it, but that didn’t work, so to appease her I told her she could get one when she was the same age I was when I got my first one. Yes, and they were older, so you know that the judgement increased tenfold. God forbid we raise our own children! It will perhaps be the greatest day of my life, second only to giving birth to her. I’ll be sure to bring snacks for when watching it all unfold goes down.
