i feel strongly about this
it is funny when I get asks like “haven’t seen grim in a while. is she okay?? is she dead? do you love her?” and then while I’m typing an answer, Grim is sprawled across my arm like this
don’t look at all my lip balms
there are four coasters and you put the coffee cup on a book
don't look at that either
laughing forever at the cool and sharp suspenders lady from pokemon whose signature monster is bumby the loaf
shoutout to the words "overmorrow" and "ereyesterday". english losing these words was stupid. "the day after tomorrow" "the day before yesterday" clunky-ass constructions. revolting. i'm bringing overmorrow and ereyesterday back in my idiolect and there is nothing you can do about it
this reads like disco elysium dialogue
this is something an NPC says to you at a bakery in the witch alps version of disco elysium
I never guessed that in my adulthood, I’d be relating to Calvin’s parents as much as I do in this comic.
Because damn … Calvin’s dad was so right.
This is part of an arc where their house got broken into and they have to deal with the ensuing fallout.
Calvin and Hobbes was some real shit, my dude.
"it's ok to show (x) in fiction as long as the bad guy gets punished!" the bad guy doesn't have to get punished. in fact the bad guy can win altogether. the bad guy can entirely get away with it. hope this helps
and this part might make some people's head explode but: characters can be written to forgive things you personally wouldn't ever forgive. not everything is written as what you'd perceive to be the right choice. not everything is a self-insert & protagonists don't have to be relatable.
The thing to bear in mind is that the awful shit should be portrayed as awful and not glorified. You can have a character who is a complete bastard. Just true scum of the earth. But unless you're writing a story from their perspective you should make sure that the things they do are not seen as good. Even if they get away with it, that doesn't make what they did a good thing.
Bad people rarely actually get punished for it irl, stories can reflect that. The worst of humanity frequently wins out, the good guys get screwed, justice doesn't prevail. And stories can reflect that. Just don't go around portraying the bad shit as good. If you do that... well it's your story, but expect the scrutiny that's going to bring.
i fixed your bad addition to my good post
pro tip if you're ever stuck on a math problem you can try meowing at it. It wont help but you CAN try it.
used to think it terribly silly (and kinda funny) when fantasy or sci-fi stories would have people refer to major recent historical events as The Flood or The Incident or The Revolution, and im sure historians fucking hate that because it's not helpful or descriptive, but we sure do be calling it The Pandemic
Sorry to be a "let people enjoy things" guy but is this not a bizarrely corny way to talk about art?
Okay well it's actually pretty well reviewed.
just saw an entire thread of people sincerely describing a content creator's pattern of posting a large amount of content and then taking breaks as "obviously grooming her audience" via "love bombing and ghosting" which i think could have been a really exciting innovation during the steven universe discourse era of tumblr

(🪽) uh...the great archangel Uriel...or something
Hey guys you should totally get into this thing i like. Yeah it's mid at best. It also aged poorly. You'll get nothing out of it at all. You'll like the idea of it more than the actual thing. But at least only takes half your natural lifespan to finish it
One of my favorite genres of post
