Hello people of Tumblr! John Watson here. After giving it many thought I have decided to start a blog, even Sherlock (begrudgingly) agreed! I am going to dedicate this blog to things like answering questions of the people, which is you, and posting about cases and many other things. So go ahead and ask any questions! Anyway, Sherlock is making an account (@thescienceofdeductionblogs) at the moment, with the help of me of course, and should be posting shortly. I am excited for this adventure and looking forward to answering questions! Thanks!

Hello @rainstar!! I am doing quite well, thank you for asking! How are you? Sadly we do not have any cases at the moment, or at least none I am aware of. Sherlock and Rosie are doing quite well also. Thankfully Sherlock can sometimes annoy her instead of me. Sherlock’s trousers you say?? I mean he has multiple pairs, I do not keep track. You say you saw a pair flying around?? Are you under the influence…?

No! I’m not under the influence. At least, I don’t think so. I swear Sherlock’s trousers were flying through the air this morning. It was windy out. Are you sure that Sherlock wasn’t out pantless earlier?

Of course I believe you, I meant it as a joke. If you really think you saw them out flying, perhaps they were. He was gone this afternoon, but he left with pants on. But who knows, it wouldn’t surprise me if Sherlock was out naked again. I’ll ask him about it.

Alright alright… but do not tell Sherlock I am writing this. There are many things about him I would consider my favorite, but his mind is quite amazing. I am baffled every time I get to see his brilliant mind at play. He is a genius, plain and simple. His mind is so complex that no one could ever understand it. That’s what makes him Sherlock. Don’t tell him I said this… his ego is big enough.

You’re so sweet! Last question before the new year! I need you to settle a debate between me and some friends! One says the smallest bone in the body is in your foot, the other says in the hand, and then I say it’s in your ear. Which one of us is right?

Hello again! Sorry for the late reply, I wanted to look at my medical textbook to double check my answer. You are correct! The smallest bone is actually in the ear! It is called The Stapes and it is in the middle ear. It is actual three millimeters long! Very knowledgeable of you to know that! Perhaps you should be a doctor?

Hello again! Trust me, you are never a bother, again I love getting asks! One thing I do love to do is go out with some old mates to a pub. I also started crocheting, per my mother’s request, don’t judge me, Sherlock already does. I sometimes won’t write about very short cases, as I really don’t see the point. But I try my best to write about almost every case we take. Thanks!

Indeed, I enjoy a good ginger nut. I love ginger in sweets. Other flavours I enjoy are chocolate, caramel, vanilla and strawberry. Why are you asking? Are you planning to provide me with pudding?

The only correct answer is chocolate. I can kind of accept Strawberry. But vanilla. Really Shelrock? Vanilla is the worst flavor. It honestly tastes like dirt.

I wouldn't call it the worst flavour. Denatonium benzoate is the worst flavour. Maybe I should give you a taste of it. I can easily mix the chemical. Maybe you're disliking vanilla because you only know the synthetic stuff. Real vanilla tastes different. Synthetic vanilla is made from wood or from chemicals left over from petroleum production. That doesn't sound yummy. I can show you real vanilla. Or maybe you're just not a vanilla guy. -SH

In small amounts it's not toxic. It's the bitterest substance known to man. It could make you nauseous. I wouldn't consider that as poisoning you. You've had worse. What about the real vanilla I offered? Did that catch your interest?

Hello, John! I’m a journalist looking for answers, and Sherlock (@thescienceofdeductionsblog) has directed me to you! I was wondering if you have any favorite cases? What do you like to do on your free time? You have any new cases going? Do you have a favorite color? If so, which shade? What made you become a doctor?

Hello! Sorry this is rather late, I haven’t been feeling well. Anyway, favorite case… I would have to say me and Sherlock’s first case, A Study in Pink. It has a nostalgic feel, and was the first time I really got to see Sherlock’s brain work. In my free time, I like to go to the pub with mates. And I do have to admit, doing cases with Sherlock is rather an enjoyable way to pass time, even when my life is being threatened. As for any new cases, I believe you have provided us with one. I will have to read up on it as I am a little behind, darn sickness. As for favorite color, I’ve always loved me a green. If we’re being very thorough I would have to say Mantis Green (#74C365). For why I became a doctor, I had always wanted to help people. Joining the army really shaped who I was, seeing all the death. Helping people as an army doctor made me realize the good I can do. I think that’s all! Thanks!

Hello there! I personally use Reuzel pomade. There’s a bunch of different kinds for different hair. I don’t use a ton, as I don’t want my hair too greasy, but it gets the job done well! I appreciate the compliment, you’re making me blush…

I was just wondering how Sherlock took the covid lockdowns? I assume not well, but if you were to put it on a scale of 1-10 how not well?

The pandemic was not a fun time. Not only was Sherlock bored out of his mind, but forcing him to stay inside and wear a mask going out was awful. He wanted to disregard the safety rules and continue cases. When he realized he couldn’t, he would just mope around all day and annoy me like a child. From 1 being the worst to 10 being the greatest, 1/10 would not recommend.
