The Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship. It also just handed the Trump administration the tools to terminate Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of Haitians and Syrians and to turn asylum seekers away at the border before they can even claim protection. We've managed to retain the status on one front while regressing heavily on another. What kind of state are we in when no progression is expected while slightly less regression is the most ideal outcome typically seen?

When the numbers reach these levels, claiming the goal was limited to Hezbollah holds no weight. This is a policy that treats an entire civilian population as movable scenery in the service of permanent strategic depth. The dead do not negotiate, and the displaced do not vote in the country that displaces them.
