It's all about sacrifice.
Another day, another disappointing BBQ experience in Seattle...but at least they had a bunch of random, black velvet Elvis paintings on the wall.
Baseball season is just around the corner.
Oh, the things you find on your camera roll that you totally forgot about until you need to clear space on the iPhone. Awesome birthday party from last September at Gas Works Park.
Fried chickpeas with Aleppo chili and roasted potatoes with an appropriate beverage while reclining on an adirondack chair at Westward overlooking Lake Union does not suck. Not at all.

Goodbye, California. Thanks for the hospitality, perfect weather, scenic driving, epic wedding and surprisingly good barbecue.
Midpines, California :: When was the last time you saw a bride do a fire dance outside under the stars at her own wedding?
If you happen to be driving through Klamath, California, and you see a 50-foot tall statue of Paul Bunyan with his ox companion, Babe...you kinda haveta stop to check it out.
Shayne and Mary :: Arcata, California :: “He’s pretty hot and he had good taste in beer.”
Cafe Brio :: Arcata, California :: “I’ve known (my best friend) since kindergarten. When my dad would drop me off (at school) I would cry every time for like thirty minutes on the couch and when his mom would drop him off, he’d go cry on the other side of the couch for like thirty minutes. We were the only two kids doing that (so) we just started hanging out. He’ll always be my best friend for sure.”
Steve :: People’s Records :: Arcata, California :: "I had a near death experience once. I was out in the ocean, got pulled by the rip tide and couldn’t swim back. No one came to get me. I was a southern boy so I wasn’t used to the ocean. As soon as I went down it was like a film flashing before my eyes. I saw my whole life and…I accepted it and I was ready for it. I thought I took my last breath…then I (somehow) came up for air and made it to the shore. Ever since then I’ll look at the ocean but I’m not going back in.”
Michael and Jennifer :: Little River, California :: “He is my permaculture of love (and) is all about making every dream of mine come true. We got reunited at a music festival after fifteen years, he got me to move back home, we started Roots Ranch and now we’re just ranchers…goat people. We just got married ten days ago.”
Heather and her daughter, Sidney :: Gualala, California :: “My daughter means life (because) life didn’t start until I had her.”
