I have to say I had a lot of expectations from the MEGA Magazine symposium because I into Men’s Fashion myself but not an expert in it. 1 of my expectations was to learn more about the fashion industry and how it operates. Just like any business nowadays, they had to adapt to be relevant to todays age. A big way they adapted is by using E-Commerce and the Internet to provide content. The speaker was right about how print and the Internet, they both provide people with content. MEGA Magazine whether if they use print or the Internet, what the customers really want is the content. For me personally, I think print will always be there because just like how people like talking in front of each other and in person, it provides us people with something concrete. I also agree with the speaker on how they segregate the content for the print and the Internet side of MEGA Magazine. There are a lot of content in the Internet that are useful, that need more things to elaborate on them and there are content that are useful and simple but need to be instant. So for the Internet, information that needs to be instant like stating the new shoes of Nike are releasing. That does not really need much content but explaining the technology of the new shoes can be in the Magazine for me.
Another way the fashion industry capitalised the Digital Age is through E-Commerce. Everything needs to be instant these days even shopping so the fashion industry brought the catalogue to us instead of us going to the stores. In the US, a lot of people use this technology everything. I wish 1 day our E-Commerce in the Philippines will grow as strong as in the US wherein I can buy absolutely anything from the Internet and have it shipped to my house
