Went to the Alhambra Cemetery in Martinez CA. Cool old grave yard. Many of the monuments are toppled. Some of the graves are vandalized. People try to steal the head stones and the statuary marble breaking it in the process.

I was hiking in the regional park near my home when I ran across this young women sitting against a trail marker. So, I did what I always do, I said "Can I take your picture?"  She said "yes" and here it is. Well I didn't check the camera settings and the frame was horribly over-exposed.  But I like the way it turned out. She was dressed in all black and white right down to the black lipstick. So the contrast in the frame works in some weird way.

This is why I go to "Tourettes" or "Occupy Oakland" or the "Folsom Street Fair" : If it turns out  to be culturally significant, then I was there.

I would've like to  go  to "Burning Man" back in the day-- before it jumped the shark.

what do you like about Bukowski?

E.A. Poe once said that anyone who wrote a completely honest book would write a masterpiece.  Well, Bukowski is direct and honest. Street, ghetto, keepin it real. That's what I like about him. He's an American Original.

what are your favorite books?

Lately, anything by Charles Bukowski, but is first novel Post Office is great. I like his poetry collections as well....and I don't like very many modern poets.

Tourette's Without Regrets at the Oakland Metro May 2014. Another interesting night of burlesque, poetry slams, and  stand-up acts.

Went to the Mitchell Brothers strip club in San Francisco Thursday night for a special "Tourette's Without Regrets" show.  First time I'd been to the famous strip club on O'Farrell  St. I didn't know what to expect and my daughter Kathy is the intern for the Tourette's people....I felt I should go just to keep her out of trouble.  There was a "No Camera" policy  at the show (sad face).  But I did get a few shots with my phone-camera on the way out the door. Anyway, it was a really cool experience.

Another weird night at Tourettes without Regrets at the Oakland Metro. Most shows have very uneven acts with: bad rap-battles, sometimes good poetry slams, comedians, and a lot of burlesque type dancers who are mostly just exhibitionists looking for a stage.

It's really fun because of the MC Jamie De Wolfe and his wacky supporting cast. He really keep things moving.

Went to FANIME in San Jose this Sat. Lots of cool costumes. Don't know all the characters. If you can help I.D. them that would be great.
