The Struggle

I thought I found forever but turns out it was just for never, the fight was over, the light was out but I still remember when it all turned around, so where do I go from here? I've got nothing left, you took all I had left, the end will surely find me, how can I put this behind me? You've made a habit of taking but forgotten how to give and let me tell you, that's no way to live! Why am I always taking the high road and you never bother lifting? I've given you everything and you never recognize all this gifting. Hopefully one day you'll love me again but until then I'll continue to try not to give in.
