I've honestly just been thinking about Kusuo partaking in small acts to seem more human lately. Like, as a kid, he saw his dad burn his tongue on hot coffee, so now he'll subconsciously overheat the tip of his tongue when given hot drinks just to cause that similar burning sensation. It seems like cute mirroring of seen behaviors until you realize he even copies harmful behaviors. I feel like Kusuo associates pain with being human, but the only pain he ever feels comes from himself.

I can imagine he takes some of these behaviors too far, as well. Like, his friends notice that he always burns his tongue on hot drinks, even if they weren't that hot to begin with. Or he pulls at his hair so much that he rips some out. They're not massive things, but they're also subtle nods to him not being an ordinary human despite the fact that he did those things just to hide from that fact.

Kusuo is such an interesting character and I'm tired of seeing people absolve him of his own internal struggles. He is not emotionless.

Saiki without powers having severely bad habits from when he had to defend his secret with his life has a lot of potential. For example:

- he could be a compulsive liar, lying about his interests and keeping secrets to the point where he’ll deny little things that you both know you know about. Could come to head one day when he accidentally lies and says he doesn’t like sweets when ‘everyone knows you like sweets why would you even say that-‘

- we already know he has phobic vulnerability, so I don’t think it would be too out of the ballpark to say Saiki could gain a phobia of both the dark and the quiet. I mean he’s never felt alone before? But now he can’t hear anybody around and that would seriously fuck me up if I were him. Lots of sleepover potential.

- as a result of his powers, he never touches people skin-to-skin if ever at all so it’s basically canon that my boy would be touched starved right? So! HC that he would become extremely clingy and have a difficult time when his powers come back and he can no longer feel comfortable hugging his mother (or friends)
