Hey, we just wanted to know why is it that you only take pictures of African Americans, we were just curious about your methods and your picture taking approach, thank you. First off, I wanted to say thank you for taking an interest in my work. Secondly, I would like to address your comment about me taking pictures of only African Americans. To that, I would like to say that I do not only take pictures of African Americans, I take pictures of every background. I just happen to like the raw beauty of subjects with color. It amuses me because a lot of people have commented that my portfolio lacks Caucasian subjects but as I look through a lot of the industry’s portfolio, I see lack of diversity.

My methods when shooting is to take off the heavy make up, exaggerated clothing, and retouching that I see a lot on people with colored skin and I like to take my subjects “Back To Nature”. To capture the essence of beauty, emotions, and struggles that not only I endure but ALL of my subjects as well. Whether black or white. 

Lastly, I don’t know what you’re referring to by your statement, if I am “truly an African American”. Are there specific guidelines that I am held to make that decision for me? Like I stated in the beginning, I am honored that you took the time out to “view” my work, but I’ll pass on the suffrage website. I’ve seen more than enough suffrage in real life.
