" I don’t feel it in my bum, only my quads" "I keep losing balance". I hear this all the timmmmeeeee. So here’s my answer! Lunges!! Lunges are soooo amazing because they are a unilateral exercise, 🙌 which essentially means ONE SIDED. (unlike a squat, which is bilateral - or BOTH SIDES) Because you are doing one leg at a time, there is a larger requirement for muscles to engage in a stabilising manner (more stability = more balance). The front leg takes the majority of the load, therefore your’e ALMOST isolating that one side. This allows you to focus on side which is much easier than focusing on both sides, and ALL surrounding muscles. In comparison to a squat where the resistance essentially goes straight up and down, a lunge can be done in different ways (such as walking lunges) to alter the direction resistance is applied thus changing the impact on muscle recruitment. So if balance and glute activation is a problem for you ladies, try including lunges in your workouts. 💪😄 I would start with a comfortable weight per hand (so you can do 12-15 reps) and slowly build yourself up ☺️🙌 visit www.kaylaitsines.com/guides and start my first 12 week training guide today 💜💪
