No but Joker 2 being a musical is legitimately a genius move, full stop, I will not qualify that, I'm not being facetious, this is not a joke.

Joaquin Phoenix and Todd Philips both described Arthur Fleck as "someone who has music in him."

When he shoots those three Wall Street guys, what's the first thing he does?

He dances.

He dances to music only he can hear.

He's let the music out of him, and the Joker emerges with it. The music in him is the very essence of the Joker.

Making Joker 2 a musical is literally just the logical conclusion of this interpretation of the character, and I couldn't be more excited about it now!
